The Power of Gratitude: Unlocking Hidden Treasures is the 3rd picture book by Ruth Maille that has won our hearts.

It is one of the most wonderful picture books that explores the many ways we can be thankful for the pleasures great and small that await us every day.

It reflects on the role gratitude can play in our lives and celebrates the powerful impact it can have on us.

With the help of a fantasy creature, Orbit, the book offers a look at what gratitude is from the perspective of young children. Orbit takes the children on an adventure to become gratitude treasure hunters by finding things from each letter of the alphabet to be thankful about.

The illustrations portray a warm, cozy, and happy world for each letter in the alphabet. The text focuses on experiences of happiness that kids can actually relate to, and is the illustrations are incredible, enough to evoke real feeling and understanding of the concept of gratitude for the good things in life.
Discussions of gratitude, happiness, and kindness are always needed, and this small book makes the medicine go down with a delicious spoonful of sugar.

This book is a great tool for teaching children about gratitude, for both small and big things in their daily lives. The pictures are beautiful and inviting, and the text is simple and eloquent to give small children a good idea about what sorts of things we can feel grateful for.

I am planning to use this book for my 2-year-old to help him learn what does the word "thank you " really means.

As an educator, parent relationship coach, and mom, it excites me to share my fourth book in The Power of ... series. Working with children for 32 years in my licensed family daycare/preschool, I have first-hand experience seeing the impact of the information in this book and series on the lives of the children in my care. My pre-schoolers passion for curiosity and learning new things has inspired each of my books. One of the best ways to feed children's curiosity is through reading books, asking questions, and listening to what they have to share. I am blessed to be in my 32nd year of running my own daycare/preschool, and I continue to learn something new every day from my children.
