I found that he stood out among the other characters and that he should get his own story. The author was an artist with her words and this made the book a good read. It is definitely for adults and maybe older teens.

Unleased Chaos takes place after the Breedline Covenant destroyed the Chiang-shih demon that had possessed Sebastian Crow, half-brother to Jace and Jem Chamberlain. Jace and Jem plan for their futures with their mates. But they have to contend with the possibility that Sebastian's mate, Eve, is pregnant by the demon. There's also the fact that Sebastian is still on the loose and has hooked up with his twin brother who is working with the scientists who have been experimenting on Breedline individuals.
Shana Congrove's writing style makes this deep fantasy novel easy to read. Her characters are unique and well developed as well and I enjoyed the emotional turmoil around the mates. And through all of this the Breedline Covenant struggle to accept Eve's and Sebastian's twins. Will they accept the twins into their lives? This was something I was on the edge of my seat for. There are several events that happen after the twins are born that kept me engaged with the story.
There is a lot of conflict throughout this dark urban fantasy story. There is a lot of moving parts to the story and a lot of events that take place. Luckily the straightforward writing keeps us on track and always sure of what's going on, which is a good thing because these are people going in all directions in this novel. I felt like this was the climax to a series finale of The Vampire Diaries, where a lot of the tension built up is released to entertaining effect.
While I did enjoy this story, I felt that Steven found himself trusting the Covenant a little too easily. With everything he'd been through with the scientists experimenting on him, I felt that it should have taken him longer to trust people he just met. But this is a gripe born out out of my connection to the character, as author Shana Congrove knows how to get you invested in what is going on.
Unleased Chaos is full of stirring characters inside of a realistic world, or as realistic as a paranormal action drama can get. Readers will be left wanting more of the drama and more of the conflict.

    I purchased and listened to this on Audible books.
    Good Story, but have Kleenex ready because parts are tear jerseys. Though I enjoyed this book on a personal note, I recently lost my Husband so it was tough to get through the end part of the book. Narrator does a good job with voices and Storyline.

    Unleashed Chaos was my introduction to the Breedline series, and this was a very fun read for me. I'm not normally a romance reader, and was hopeful that I would enjoy myself in this book, and I'm glad to say that I did!
    First off, since I'm not normally a romance girl, I was pleased with the level of spice in the novel. It wasn't overdone, but you still got the sense of how the characters feel for each other. I think the author handled this in a good way. One of my main criticisms of many romance authors is how it feels like they need to go overboard with explaining each and every action, when painting with a broad brush would suit the scene better, and Shana Congrove was superb in this task, and it suited my preferences perfectly.
    Secondly, I really enjoyed the world building with this book. It felt quite plausible for me that within our reality that there really could be shapeshifters that are able to morph into wolves (and even panthers in one instance!) and how they were able to hide in plain sight was believable. I also enjoyed that she had incorporated creatures from our folklore past in her story, and how they could exist in the modern age. And to read about locations that I used to live near, also helped ground it in our world.
    If you're a romance fan and love shifters in your books, I think you'll enjoy this book. And even if you're not normally a romance fan, I think the world building is good enough to keep your interest, and I would recommend it to a non-romance reader as well!

    The Breedline species - humans that can shift into wolves - have conquered the Chiang-shih demon releasing the evil half brother of Jace and Jem Chamberlain named Sebastian. Jace is forced to seek revenge on Sebastion and protect Tessa who is pregnant with his twins. Meanwhile, a mysterious guest arrives at Jem and Mia's wedding with a healing gift and past of running from scientists who have discovered and are interested in his abilities and possibly threatening Breedline's existence forever.

    This was my first shape-shifting novel and I listened to the audiobook simultaneously while reading it on kindle. I found the narrator's voice to add to the story and fit the ambiance of my entire experience. The skinwalker aspect appealed to my Native American heritage and I found the wolf side to be very authentic from my 10 years of experience of working with dogs. The story has some strong male characters that are well developed with an otherworldly quality that is specific to Breedline. The story was well written and easy to follow for newcomers to the genre like me.

    I would recommend this book for people interested in the paranormal as well as shapeshifters and biology. Animals lovers will be attracted to the wolf side of the Breedline. I have become a fan of this series and am looking forward to seeing what is in store in the next books ahead.

    Everything I loved going on in The Immortal by this author is exponentially stronger, better, and more adventurous here. Shifter books are not my thing, but I've enjoyed two books by this author so far.
