Taste of Blood: A Reese Mackenzie Novel Kindle Edition
Things get a little too real when the photo of a dead girl right from her nightmares ends up on Reese's desk. Instead Reese finagles her way all the way to Romania to investigate something a lot safer: a vampire.
However once Reese and her co-worker, Brody, hit Bucharest, she makes a disheartening discovery. Her psychic gift – or curse – kicks into overdrive, especially concerning the victims of a serial killer who fancies himself a vampire. Victims turn up completely drained of all their blood from puncture holes in the neck, in some gruesome encore performance of the Transylvania of lore.
Instead of limiting themselves strictly to her dreams, Reese's premonitions begin to arrive via physical contact with future victims. While she tries to piece together her erratic psychic evidence, Romanian police, desperate to find their killer, zone in on her implausible connection to each of the victims.
It's a pathway of clues that could lead her to the killer, or send her completely over the edge.
TASTE OF BLOOD is the psychological thriller from author Ginger Voight, whose genre-bending novels like MY IMMORTAL and DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS dig into the macabre to unearth suspense, romance and drama.

About the authors
"Ginger has the amazing ability to write in a variety of genres, from hot romance to straight horror to hilarious comedy, which is a talent few writers possess. Some of Ginger's work is bold and sometimes uncomfortable, because she often deals with issues many of us would rather turn away from. Yet in other works, she gives us one hell of a good time with characters you can never forget once you've met them!" - writer/producer Marie D. Jones, Where's Lucy? Productions
Ginger Voight is a screenwriter and bestselling author with nearly thirty published novels. Having covered everything from travel to politics as a nonfiction freelancer, she is unafraid to explore multiple genres like romance, paranormal, and dark, "ripped from the headlines" mainstream fiction with surprising depth.
Ginger discovered her love for writing in sixth grade, courtesy of a Halloween assignment. From then on, writing became a place of solace, reflection, and security. This was never more true than when she found herself homeless in L.A. at the age of nineteen. There, she wrote her first novel, longhand on notebook paper, while living out of her car.
In 1995, after she lost her nine-day-old son, she worked through her grief by writing the story that would eventually become The Fullerton Family Saga.
In 2011, she embarked on a new journey--to publish romance novels starring heroines who look more like the average American woman. These "Rubenesque" romances have developed a following thanks to her bestselling Groupie series. Other titles, such as the highly-rated New Adult series, Fierce, tap into the "reality-TV" preoccupation in American entertainment, which gives her contemporary stories a current, pop culture edge.
Known for writing gut-twisting angst, Ginger isn't afraid to push the envelope with characters who are perfectly imperfect. Whether rich, poor, sweet, selfish, gay, straight, curvy or svelte, her characters are beautifully flawed and three-dimensional. They populate her lavish fictional landscapes and teach us more about the real world in which we live simply through their interactions with each other. Ginger's goal with every book is to give the reader a little bit more than they were expecting, told through stories they'll never forget.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2014Was ok..just lost interest in it midway. Dragged..
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2011This was a thrilling, original story with an interesting plotline. The characters are easy to visualise, though they are complex. This is definitely a new way of looking at vampire stories and a lot of the 'horror' is psychological. I couldn't devour it fast enough and the story kept me wanting to know exactly what happened next. I enjoyed that it was set somewhere unusual, and despite me thinking before I read it that it might be too cliched, I was pleasantly surprised by the book... definitely a great read, throroughly enjoyable. Basically perfect for vampire fiction fans (yes, even those who've come to detest how popular the genre is now) and for vampire newbies, as well as people interested in the psyche or casual readers.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2011Reese Mackenzie, one of the top tabloid reporters in the United States, is accustomed to fabricating fictional stories to entertain readers. But when she jets off to Romania to cover a story about a murderous vampire she gets more truth than she ever bargained for. Plagued by eerie premonitions full of monsters and murder Reese is determined to try and stop the killer before he claims his next victim, but quickly draws suspicion as every new casualty is suddenly connected to her. Can Reese outwit the police and the paranormal to stop the predator, or will she become the next prey?
Taste of Blood is a chilling and suspenseful story that blurs the line between reality and supernatural so effectively that the reader will begin to wonder, right along with Reese, if vampires might actually exist. With interesting characters, a unique setting and plenty of suspense, you will not encounter a single dull moment in Taste of Blood.
