- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2010I really enjoyed this latest book by Jane O'Roarke. It's a lot longer than her first book. I've fallen in love with the hero, Navy SEAL Raj Gupta!
It is her second book, the first was Necessary Line (Men of Honor). This book follows through with a nice suspense plot, but I loved the new characters and the interaction with Raj's traditional Indian mother.
Even without a menage, this book was hot!
Over all, a quick read, a good plot and interesting characters. I look forward to the next book by Jane O'Roarke.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2011Laughed out loud with the first scene, and enjoyed the chemistry between Raj and Cassie. More character development from the first (Necessary Line), pulls you right in. Looking forward to the next!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2023This story has a lot of drama, suspence, danger, and a little romance, keeping you turning the pages to read what happens next, until the very end, looking forward to reading more books from this author
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2013This book had some hot, charged moments, and the story itself is not too memorable. The hero on the other hand was, he was macho and dominant, in addition to being in the military. I have read this a couple of times since buying it, and have never been able to get over my apathy for the heroine, but still it was ok as a military romance read.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2011I loved this book. The dialogue is great. The characters are well written. I know other reviewers had problems with Cassie, but I enjoyed her very much. She's a "take charge woman". She doesn't wait around for somebody to take care of her, she walks the walk and talks the talk. Raj is a great guy. I liked the couple they made. I've read it twice and I know I'll read it again. I liked this book better than the first book in the series, because of the plot and people involved. Think Lora Leigh's Elite Ops books, only much better.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2012Loved Raj, Jake, Nicolas, and endearing Tom!! I loved how the author creates a mini family for Cassie who started out with no family and ended up with a full circle of family, through Raj both personally and professionally. All the characters are very well develop but I have to admit that Raj and his mom are definitely my favorite!! Great characters!!
Also enjoyed catching up with Jett, Kaida, Leo, and Ben. Glad they found Drago and that he has turned his life around.
Highly recommend both books. This one is a little longer than the first but equally enjoyed both reads.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2010I really enjoyed this second book by this author. The main guy, a Navy SEAL, was yummy. The girl is a spunky FBI agent who I didn't like at first, but she grew on me. The sex is just enough for me. I liked the ending. Overall a good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2011I usually try to suspend forming opinions on characters early into the text, but from the start, Cassie O'Brian was a thoroughly unlikable protagonist, seriously impacting my enjoyment of "The Girl Says Yes (Men of Honor)" and making it difficult to get into the storyline. I started reading and stopped reading this book in the first few chapters so many times, I considered deleting it from my Kindle rather than forcing myself to get through it. "Raj" kept me going back to try again. Rajiv Gupta was sexy and intriguing, an honorable SEAL trying to take down a bad guy when he is propositioned in a racist and insulting manner, thwarted during intelligence gathering then injured by Cassie in their initial collision. Although Cassie is described as tough and mourning the loss of her father, a more apt description would be a bitch on wheels. She is dreadful from the first and an alpha like Raj deserves better. Sorry, but even steamy sex scenes and her daddy issues could not endear this gal to this reader. Would have given it one star but for Rajiv's smoking hot presence.
This was the first novel I've read by this author, and I am afraid it might be the last. Better treatments of action/erotica/alpha male v. spunky female leads have been done by Pamela Clare, Lisa Marie Rice, Evangeline Anderson and Lora Leigh, to name but a few.
