- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2019(Written by Nancy Butler) What a delightful book! If you love dogs, you will love this book! Rhiann Kelly dreamed of creating an animal sanctuary. Levi Butler dreamed of raising and selling horses.
Will their dreams come true? Read this book that is truly engaging and a very enlightening storyline to find out the answers.
This is the first book in the Pet Romance series and I can’t wait for book two!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2024Here's a man and a woman who can't do enough for each other - or for pets. I want to read about the lives of those people. I want to KNOW those people! Plenty of movement in the story, but each hurdle is overtaken, and pets are loved and taken care of. A good evening read for pleasant nights.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2020Not only are deserved pups getting rescued in this story, but Rhiann and Levi, who have both been burned by love, get rescued and find new love. This book also has some suspense which keeps you guessing until the end about how it's going to turn out. If you like clean romance with a bit of suspense and cute pups needing homes, this is the book for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2021Liked the pace, the character's journey toward love and understanding..
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2019What a clever idea for a sweet, clean romance. Bringing people together through rescue pets, second chances for bot pets and people.

It's been a while since I really sat down and read a book- like almost 3 months due to life and my health. However, when Gayle approached me about helping spread the word, I was intrigued and thought this might be exactly what I needed. Rhiann reminded me of myself with the love of her grandparents. Most of y'all know how much my Pawpaw meant to me... if not, check out Southern Perfection. Her caring and genuine attitude was something I admired as well as Levi's willingness to help others. I also really enjoyed the drama with Dallas. It gave a little extra excitement but also didn't linger too long. I can't wait for the second in this series!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2020I am not one who usually reads romance stories but the cover and the title of Gayle’s novel had me curious. I love how she invited us into the story with the fact that it was a ‘clean romance’. So may romance books, movies, and TV shows these days are full of sorted details and raw scenes and language that they can actually turn people off to what real romance is all about. Rescue Road was a wonderful and refreshing story that took place in beautiful Montana. The main characters, Rhiann and Levi, were people I could relate to and cheer on. And through it all, the twists and turns served to surprise me each time and encouraged me to read on to find out what happened. This was a great story that pulled me in with the turn of each page and never distracted me from what a good and healthy romance can really look like, even in difficult situations. Bad guys as well as decent people surfaced throughout the story and the heartwarming comparison of dog rescuing to people rescuing shines through. I am looking forward to reading Gayle’s next book in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2020I typically do not read romance novels, but I am a dog lover, and the book's title and author's extensive background with rescue dogs and organizations convinced me to purchase a copy. I'm still surprised that every night before going to bed, I looked forward to reading the next couple of chapters. The author does a fine job of mixing romance with dogs, wholesome people, and villains. Not to be overlooked is the author's use of images of the West, autumn colors in the mountains, the danger presented on driving icy, snow-packed roads, and the isolation between a home or town and the next. I highly recommend this book.
