THE PERFECT PLAN
With her people on the brink of starvation, Lady Benae Branasar devises a daring rescue. She will marry powerful Prince Jiseve of Brightcastle and use his fortune to save her estates. But first she must compete against three princesses equally determined to win his hand.

A DANGEROUS DISTRACTION
When she finds herself drawn to her reluctant escort, the prince’s squire Ramón Zorba, her plans begin to unravel.

Ramón is dealing with problems of his own, but as he thaws, Benae glimpses the devastating man beneath. The more time they spend together, the harder Benae finds it to focus on her objective. Will she stay true to her people? Or will love and fate intervene?

The Lady’s Choice is the second book in the epic Queenmakers Saga, blending the sweeping high fantasy world of Thorius with sizzling romance. If you like magic, court intrigue and mythical creatures, wrapped up in a “marriage of convenience gone wrong” romance, you’ll love The Lady’s Choice.

Editorial Reviews

Review

This is one intense, electrifying tale that captures your attention from start to finish. The characters are authentic, impressive and realistic with such depth and personality its easy to relate. The scenes are written with such realism, theres no trouble interpreting each scenario as they play off one another perfectly.

Royal intrigue, combined with vying for the king's hand in marriage almost reminiscent of episodes of "The Bachelor" on TV, and a lot of sexual tension make this book different from the first one in the series. And what about Ramon and his unrequited love for Princes Alecia. You'll just have to read the book and discover for yourselves, because I'm not telling.

From the Author

The Lady's Choice is the second book I wrote and was first published by Penguin Australia. It's a spin off of Princess Avenger and the hero is Ramon Zorba, a secondary character from Princess Avenger. Ramon is a beta hero who comes into his power in this fantasy romance. I thought it would be fun to write a virgin hero and it really was. The heroine is beautiful Benae who decides a marriage of convenience will provide her the funds to save her impoverished estate. She doesn't reckon on falling in love along the way and not with her husband. I love Benae and have given her gifts I wish I had. She can speak mind to mind with her horse and can heal with her mind as well. She has a beautiful relationship with her stallion Flaire, just like the one I had with my horse Captain. This one is the book of my heart and I hope you enjoy it.

The Lady's Choice: A Sexy Epic Fantasy Romance Novel (Queenmakers Saga Book 2) Kindle
by Bernadette Rowley . This is the second novel I have read by this author and both were brilliant! This is a brilliant read ... well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with and wonderful world building. The novel had a great story line, building upon the characters introduced in the preceding novel. The author showed maturation in her writing from her debut novel and ther one flowed wonderfully, keeping you engaged from the beginning. The foreshadowing gave way to some predictions along the way, however, the novel was thrilling throughout. I gave ther honest, voluntary review after being given a free copy of the novel

Before we get to find out what happened to Princess Alecia and Captain Anton from book one, Princess Avenger, we first focus on Princess Alecia's father, Prince Jiseve in book two, The Lady's Choice by Bernadette Rowley. With Princess Alecia having run off with Captain Anton, the possibility of an heir for the kingdom is out the window.

The widowed Prince Jiseve decides to look for a wife to carry his child, hopefully a son who will ascend to the thrown. Prince Jiseve sets up his own version of the Bachelorette and invites four women to Brightcastle from whom to choose and Lady Benae plans on winning the competition. I love this part of the book, I was on the edge of my seat and so nervous for Lady Benae. Ms. Rowley takes us on an entertaining ride with a mix of wit, devious pursuit, and a seemingly high moral ground, by one character in particular, enter Squire Ramon and all bets are off the table. Lust and love meet head on in a push pull relationship between three people and only two out of the three know whats happening and what is really at stake. I can tell right now that this is going to be an intriguing, dramatic and sexy series. Grab a glass and a hot bath, you're in for a treat.

Note: There may be some physical abuse triggers in this book for those sensitive to the subject.

So we were just supposed to forget Ramon is an attempted rapist? He continued his obsession with Alecia for the majority of the book, and then just stopped. But not really because after he was supposedly over it there was a scene that revealed not so much.

I liked that Benae wasn't a virgin and comfortable with her sexuality. But wtf? She went to save her people with the marriage, and 5 minutes after she got there she was trying to bang Ramon. And continued to pursue him even though he constantly refused her. It was funny seeing Ramon get a taste of his own medicine.

It was two creepy people who don't respect the word no who ended up with a convenient HEA. I mean I guess.

In The Lady's Choice, Lady Benae comes to Brightcastle to meet Prince Jiseve and vie with three princesses for the priveldge of becoming his wife. The prince needs an heir, and for that he must put aside his love for his first wife and take another. Benae easily captivates him, and they are soon betrothed. Benae is overjoyed. She needs to do this to secure her estate and to save her land from the dark elves. The prince vows to take care of her and her land. What Benae doesn't count on is the captivating presence of the prince's squire, Ramon. He soon steals her heart and eventually loses his own. But honor must prevail and promises must be kept.

The Lady's Choice is a roller coaster of emotions for everyone involved. Will love prevail, or will duty and honor stand strong? Benae and Ramon find themselves in various situations that test their resolve. Filled with twists and turns, danger, intrigue and romance there is plenty to keep the story moving at a reasonable pace. I liked that Benae was a little older and confortable with her own sexuality. This was an interesting segment to what is shaping up to be an intriging series. I look forward to further installments.

I really am enjoying these books. B Rowley, does an epic job when creating a scene, characters, and economics. The picture is so vivid, it's like I'm right there with the characters. About the book: Prince Jiseve announces that he is seeking a wife. This is to ensure that there is a bloodline aire to the thrown. 3 Princesses, and a Lady show up. It's quite clear, that the Prince is taken with Lady Bensae. She has curves in all the right places, and is quite beautiful. Soon a marriage is being planned between the two. What was not accounted for by Lady Bensae, was that she had become interested in Ramon, and he interested in her. The problem with this is Ramon, is the right hand of the Prince. Ramon, knows the true Prince, but Bensae, does not believe he is a cruel man. The events that accompany the rest of the book, are well thought out. It is an Adventure, Mystery, Thriller, Comedy, rolled along with passion, jealousy, and love! A must read!

Lady Benae has a plan for taking care of her holding. Prince Jiseve is looking for a new wife to hopefully produce a son as his heir. All Lady Benae has to do is get him to choose her instead of one of the three princesses who have been entertaining him for a couple of weeks already. Arriving at Brightcastle she first notices squire Ramon and falls instantly in lust. The squire is fixated on his dreams of returning Princess Alica to her father. Lady Benae wants to wed the prince and bed the squire.

This is a wonderful story that picked up where the previous one ended. It doesn’t waste a lot of your time in rehashing the events leading up to the present. Full of action, suspense, intrigue and drama throughout the story.

Not a bad read but not really for me. Too much of a love story for me. I like a book with a strong female lead with a strong character. This did not deliver that in my view. Not sure what happened to the avenging princess.
