Galindra the ForeSender is back in this sequel to series starter "ForeSender Fury" by Adrian Murphy.

She can turn into a dragon, wield battle magic, communicate telepathically and reach out with heightened, magical senses into past, present and future to detect hidden presences and solve mysteries.

She also cooks. And by "cook" I mean reduce entire armies to smoldering ashes with her fiery dragon breath.

It is Galindra's duty as a ForeSender to guard a cluster of worlds known as the Continuum from enemies both foreign and domestic. In the first episode, together with her brother, Salith, a wolf shifter, Galindra allied with space colonists from a distant Earth to stop an attack on a wormhole-like portal that was key to the ForeSender ability to travel across the Continuum.

Now, Galindra and Salith team up with their uncle, Mirchelius, Leader of the ForeSenders, to face a much greater threat.

An army of Viking-like warriors known as Voiders have cloaked their longships in magical energy to allow them to travel through space, and this armada now descends on Planet Calistra with invasion in mind. To make matters worse, these axe-wielding marauders have forged an alliance of convenience with the so-called Fresh Starters, a mutinous faction of the human colonists who have risen up in an attempt to seize the wormhole network connecting the Continuum with the Solar System, their fanatical goal being to "wipe the slate clean" and restore Earth to its original pristine state, a mad quest that could kill billions.

Galindra and the ForeSenders must deepen their alliance with the friendly human colonists not only to save Calistra from the inbound Voider hordes, but to protect Earth from the mad vision of the Fresh Start insurrectionists as well.

In "ForeSender Rebirth," Adrian Murphy has once again created a dazzlingly complex mash-up of science fiction and epic fantasy in crisp, precise prose with a military edge that could draw blood. Yet he deftly avoids both gratuitous violence and profanity, making this tale of action, adventure, intrigue, magic and space opera fun for the whole family.

This was an interesting read. Coming it without reading book one was a bit difficult, but it tries well to catch you up to speed. SPOILERS AHEAD

Essentially, it's about a girl named Galindra, who after that seem a tough fight from Book One, gets trapped in a desert of a far-off planet and barely makes it back. Meanwhile a coup starts on the other of the planet.
Personally, I found the sub-plot with the coup a lot more exciting and engaging as I couldn't get invested in Galindra. Maybe if I had read book one it would've been easier, but she felt like this callous soldier type, (which may fit Military fiction) but she was hard to empathize with. The descriptions were pretty intriguing at times, and I might go back to read Book One before rereading this one.

This series of books have everything necessary for a great story. The author, Adrian Murphy did a marvelous job of world building, & time building.he combined so many genres together to build an epic adventure! There are elements of every type of genre from Viking saga to magic, to knights and castles to futuristic Sci-Fi space stations and space travel. And lets not forget the author built this all around an intergalactic thriller.
I am so glad there are more episodes to come yes I highly recommend this whole series of books to anyone, who loves any of these genres!

This second book in the ForeSender series does not disappoint. Non-stop action across several worlds leaves the reader breathless. Brother and sister ForeSenders Galinda and Salith are tested to the max as they confront evil witch Kaletha and her two sisters, while battles between more normal humans rage around them. Characters’ goals are clearer and the action more intense than in Book 1—just what you want from Book 2. The reader is left to ponder how such a complex situation can ever be resolved so that everyone who deserves a good result will get one. Surprisingly thought-provoking for an action-packed fantasy/sci-fi/mystery. Very well done!

After reading ForeSender book one, ForeSender Book two did not disappoint. Adrian Murphy brings action and adventure to a whole new level. A page-turning delight. I especially appreciate Murphy's prose and metaphors. From the book: "Ducati could smell fresh loam and the tang of water on stone, like rain falling on a bone dry sidewalk, but much sharper." Can't you just picture and smell that?

My first time reading an epic fantasy. A very well written and well done mix of sci-fi, fantasy, military, planet colonization, shape-shifters, magic, action, adventure and intrigue. Many outstanding descriptions and excellent writing. Looking forward to more from this author.

This book was as hard to put down as the first book. The blend sci-fi and fantasy is so refreshing. Murphy does a fantastic job with the battle scenes and keeping track of such a broad cast of characters. I’ll definitely be reading book 3.
