- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2014This sci-go romance is a decent set up for a series. Adam's DNA was tampered with, but he escapes from the genetic lab where he was imprisoned and meets Chance while he's on the run. There's instant physical chemistry, and they have enough in common to keep the interest going. I connected with both characters and I'm anxious to see where this goes.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2014Enjoyable, but there were plot twists that took me places I wasn't expecting based on the set up. Overall a fun read.

I enjoyed this story about Adam, a genetically enhanced human, and Chance, a man who is a disappointment to his father. Adam is on the run from the father who created him and who ultimately wants to see him destroyed. Chance is trying to survive in a corporate world that stifles him but is doing his best to make his father proud.
Can two men who are struggling with finding who they are get a chance at happiness? Can Adam escape his past to forge a future?

This is a short fast read about Adam who was genetically altered at birth by his father. A freak accident allows Adam to escape from being held at a research facility. After being on the run Adam meets Chance and things take off from there.
Sex Scences: Only a few but they were good º
Characters: I instantly connected to Adam
Would I recommend this to others: For sure
Religious: No
More than one book in a series: This has potential to be a series and I hope it turns into one.
Genre: M/M, Paranormal, Werewolves, Romance/Erotic
Would I read more from this author: Yes

- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2015This is an awesome beginning for a great series! The blurb alone made me curious. The cover art also piqued my curiosity. After reading Kendall McKenna's books on gay werewolf military romance, I found myself wanting to find other good reads that also featured gay werewolf action stuff. This book fit the bill!
Stanley's descriptive details immerse me into the world of the hybrids, who are half animal and half human as a result of scientific research. This sci fi/paranormal read features Adam, an experimental byproduct of DNA splicing between animal and human. Imprisoned in a top secret facility manned by abusive guards who see Adam and his fellow "experiments" as less than human, Adam seeks escape and yearns for freedom. An opportunity arises and he not only escapes, he also grabs ahold of incriminating evidence that lands him in a most wanted list -- just as he meets journalist Chance.
From the first chapter, Adam won me over. I wanted him to be free and have his chance with Chance. :-) Characters were well-developed, plot was riveting--I couldn't put this book down! Definitely highly recommended!!

This short story sets up a series that can run and run (as far as I am concerned at least!). I enjoyed the detail, the level of tension, and most of all the awakening of Adam's feelings. It works on a number of levels, as we live in times where the premise of the story is not entirely far fetched, and the romance is both sweet, but also hot. And although clearly there is more to come, the story does not end on a cliffhanger - for which I am grateful!
When is the next installment out?

- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2014Adam is book one in the Hybrids series. I read Mace, the second book, first, and I got so caught up in the story, I had to go back and get Adam's book. The background is secret military research. They're splicing animal DNA with human DNA to create soldiers. Adam is a wolf hybrid and he's been locked up all his life. There's a fire and he escapes. Adam is always running, trying to stay one step ahead of the bad guys, first in his wolf body, then as a man. I liked seeing how Adam learned to get along in the real world after being kept in a cell. Of course, he doesn't trust anyone, and when he meets Chance, he's suspicious. But Chance won't give up on Adam, and you just know these two belong together. They're a great couple, the physical attraction is intense. I loved Adam's story as much as Mace's, and I can't wait for Loki's book to come out.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2014This was a good book. I enjoyed the connection between the two characters. The only thing to me was that i just wanted more. I felt like i got the appetizer before i got the main course. There could have been so much more to the story.

2.0 out of 5 stars Characters ruined it.
I like the concept of the story but feel the content structure lower my overall score. The constant POV swaps were annoying, especially during their first sex scene. The moment was lost because the author was too busy trying to deliver feelings from both sides. Why not do one sex scene in Adam's POV and the next one with Chance?
I liked the failed-human-experiment themes and would like to explore the other books because of these genres but I didn't like how vague everything was. I've read some great sci-fi fantasy books and this felt a little flat.
The timeline was fast forwarded to get to a certain moment in time and because of that, certain feelings you gather while following the characters were lost; the scenes were so choppy that I lacked interest with what was happening.
I didn't like the characters. Chance as a character annoyed me and their meet cute was rather dull and unadventurous. Frankly, the characters made the whole story boring and predictable. It was a struggle to finish. I've read reviews that say that the second book is better but for now, I'm putting this series on hold.
It just wasn't for me.
