Ghosts of Trumball Mansion Kindle Edition

4.8 out of 5 stars 14 ratings

Why do the ghosts attack only him?
Or is Henry Fitzgibbons insane?

Lana Longstreet is his star author … and the nom de plume of his estranged wife. Though he still loves her, how can he live in a home where ghosts attack him at every turn? Maybe the time has come to officially end any obligation to his wife’s Connecticut estate and be free from their torment.

Though she still loves her husband, Sylvia Fitzgibbons is tired of the charade of a marriage. She’d ask Henry for a divorce, but the children are planning an anniversary party in August, and she has a deadline for her Johnny Gallant suspense series in the same month. Then there are the decaying rose gardens, the only allure drawing Henry to the estate and her launch parties.

Henry agrees to help with the garden repair, but his hopes for a quick departure are smashed when Sylvia’s housekeeper is injured. Unable to resist her
femme fatale wiles, Henry is trapped for the duration. But as the couple draw on each other for support, the malignant forces within the home become increasingly aggressive.

Something evil conspires against them that only Faith can conquer. Will they survive?

A Compelling story about an author writing under a sinister alter ego presence. Her husband and his failures complicate what once was a romantic marriage that devolved into a hostile relationship. Overseeing these flawed characters is an evil presence in a stately mansion. The author weaves a narrative that allows readers to see inside and bond with realistic characters. 'Ghosts of Trumball Mansion' is as good as it gets in a book that is both well-written and full of mystery. It also draws the reader into the introspection of a Christian theme. This is the first book I have read from novelist Linda Wood Rondeau, but it will not be the last.

"The Ghosts of Trumball Mansion," is filled with suspense, mystery, and a struggle for love. The author had me guessing from page one to the end about who was doing what and how it would all end. The characters were true to themselves and needed a fresh touch from God, but the spiritual warfare hinders the path. I'll leave that to the readers to discover.

This was a really good story that appeared hopeless at the beginning but that through the grace and love of God, turned the lives of the characters around. I really enjoyed this page turner, and look forward to reading more by this author. Highly recommended.

A testament to new beginnings as ghosts of the past are vanquished. As a marriage mentor I enjoyed this journey from brokenness to wholeness as the couple embraced Christ.

Did the house really hate Henry? The "ghosts" at work would have you think so. Amid the dark backdrop of author drama at a mysterious mansion, a relationship seems to be in ruins, but the strength of the characters shines through to an ending you will love. Very enjoyable!

Think Christians can’t enjoy a good ghost story? Think again. Linda Wood Rondeau’s Ghosts of Trumball Mansion reveals a haunted house and haunted hearts that can only be cleansed with the love of Jesus.

Will Sylvia Fitzgibbons exorcize her literary doppelgänger Lana Longstreet, the nom de plume personality who chose money and fame over happiness? Will her husband Henry vanquish the silent specters of wartime trauma and deep personal loss? Can they reanimate a marriage that has been in name only for fifteen years? Can they stand against the violent phantoms gathered in the ballroom of their 200-year-old mansion?

Mystery, romance, sustaining faith, a flip and flawed heroine straight from the Algonquin. These delights await in Ghosts of Trumball Mansion.

This was probably my favorite Rondeau book. The plot was totally not what I expected. Henry and Sylvia Fitzgibbons's marriage is in trouble, as are their spiritual lives. When Trumball Mansion exhibits demon activity, matters in their lives worsen.
The author Sylvia Fitzgibbons, aka Lana Longstreet, is hit with a lawsuit for plagiarism. Trouble on trouble threatens everything in their life.
I could not figure out how any of the issues could have started or how they could be resolved. The expert tale-telling kept me flipping pages.
    I recommend this read.
