Zola Joyce writes whatever the heck she feels like, which in 2023 means Zombies! Not gory, keep-me-up at night stories, but rather a little tongue-in-cheek zombie humor to poke fun at human nature.

She has also written modern-day romantic comedies with lots of action, a heroine and hero with a backbone, and a happy ending!

In past lives, she's studied in Brazil, taught ESL in Budapest, and dabbled in hazmat cleanup. She currently develops software in the great state of Texas, with an amazing husband and two wonderful kids.

    The second book is just as entertaining as the first!

    This book starts in much the same way as the first, and I it certainly is creative! It seems Magda finds trouble at every turn. :)

    I appreciated the connection between Magda and JD, and how this storyline was written. These two characters are easy to enjoy.

    Just like book one, there was not a traditional HEA, or hard cliffhanger in this ending. It kinda feels like the author may want to carry the story on at some point. Or...just leave it alone with this ending. I wouldn’t know...

    This is not a reason to skip this one, or the first one, and I do recommend reading these in order. Both books are entertaining, easy to read, and creative. I enjoyed reading this author.

    This is a very good, fun filled book that continues from the previous Solo in the City. I'm not sure I like the cliffhangers but it is such an enjoyable read that I'm hoping there is at least one more. Magda and JD are great together, JD's not afraid to stand up to Madga's family either. It's a very good fast paced book, very entertaining with perfect romance. The reason for the 4 is there have been cliffhangers in each book and I don't like that. . . just finish the story please.

    "Straying in the City" was another entertaining read from Zola Joyce. The fast-paced page-turning plot was focused on Magda's antics along with J.D. Kelly, the protagonists from "Solo in the City." Additionally, the plot was filled with humor and a little romance which made for a delightfully entertaining narrative. I liked it.
