Water quenches fire.
Ice freezes water.
—The elemental demon version of rock, paper, scissors
Parke Worth:
Murders, unexplained fires, Industrial espionage and walking myths meant my first days as Chancellor of everything paranormal were packed and stressful.
Cassie King-Worth:
A rushed marriage, a forced trip back to an Alabama law school and the wakening of a terrible race long thought dead meant my first days as a married elemental demon were full and terrifying.
Tossing in the werewolf Grand Master, the General for the Earth Sprite King and murderous family members means I have the makings of a new, Mystic War on my hands.
Now, to convince my Chancellor husband that something needs to be done…

- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2016A new, stand alone series from Connie Suttle!
Read A Christmas Feral in the Other Worldly Holidays Anthology first.

Elemental Demons, werewolves, sprites, vampires and shifters. This is going to be another great series with a wonderful cast of characters. Paranormal with a a sci-fi twist at the end.
The fight to save Earth is on and the enemy is not going to be easy to overcome. Too many paranormals have not studied the ancient records and because of that, the enemy has an advantage. Cassie is essential to a successful ending. Can one fire demon do what is necessary?
- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2019Cassie starts off fearful and hesitant because of her situation, she's railroaded into things she doesn't want. However she does the best she can and starts evolving into a strong person with determination to do what she thinks needs to be done. I loved it and recommend it to others. All of Connie Suttle's books are fantastic. They draw you in, keep you interested and the end of each book just makes you impatient for the next.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2016I have to say this book is harder to read than most of connies other books. Its not really all together till the end and then your left feeling like you got a placeholder not the real story. Its even more confusing since the real begining is in a short story in a christmas anthology she did. So sadly i cannot give higher than a 3 out of 5, just cant click with the main characters.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2016I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this book as it was a completely new book with no ties to other characters in any of Connie Suttles other books. I did enjoy this book and am looking forward to the next one. I would definitely recommend this book for a good read. Connie still has strong women and magical people in this book and I loved meeting them.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2017Action-packed and high speed from beginning to end, the start of this series already has me buying the next book. Although multiple perspectives can get a little hard to juggle, Suttle does a great job keeping them labeled so you know who/where the story line is coming from. The different pieces of the plot fit together seamlessly to create depth to the story from a 1st hand view you wouldn't otherwise get without the main character endlessly traveling back and forth.
Gotta run now. Book 2 is calling.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2021Cassie is the strongest and bravest of them all but doesn't realize it. Love Cliff and Rob well all the characters that are helping to save earth.

1.0 out of 5 stars Gave up half way through
Sorry, but I couldn't get into this at all. Absolutely no idea where it was going and just seemed full of pretty boring people going about a pretty boring, albeit slightly supernatural, existence.

This is the start of a new series...but it doesn't start at the beginning... the first few pages are lists of characters and I haven't a clue who they are...
