Stranger in the Mirror (Love and Light) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 318 ratings

Hallie awoke in the wrong body, but in the arms of the right man… Sure she'd made mistakes, but this was taking atonement way too far.

On the brink of a bitter divorce when she was struck by a cerebral hemorrhage, Hallie died, only to discover her life wasn’t over. She'd been given a second chance and reawakened as Marti West, a quiet but calculating waitress in a Florida hick town. Even worse for the former party girl, she’s carrying the child of Jesse West, the Southern stranger Marti tricked into marriage.

All Hallie wants, or so she thinks, is to return to California. But she can’t resist her racecar driver husband’s one request: stay until she has his baby. Soon, she’s having a hard time resisting her newfound feelings for her sexy country-music-loving husband, as well as his warm, tight-knit family. As she struggles to adjust to her new life and conflicting feelings, Hallie finds herself in a race of her own: to uncover the truth behind a savage attack before the assailant—who meant to kill Marti—returns to finish the job.

About the Author

I've always loved the combination of romance and suspense. Having just one or the other doesn't do it for me. Almost all of my twenty-eight books and five novellas twist both of those elements together, because nothing complements falling in love better than being hunted down, right?

My goal as a writer is to create books that make people feel good. My characters come with baggage, past hurts, and vulnerabilities. They go through hell, find love, and at the end, find peace in who they are and everything they've gone through. And isn't that what we all want?

Soul-changing second chances play the catalyst for the first three books in my
Love & Light CollectionUntil I Die AgainStranger in the Mirror, and Woke Up Dead. Psychic connections play into Unforgivable and Touched by Lightning. The question of where our souls go when we're in a coma kicks off What She Doesn't Know.

I jumped into the paranormal with both feet in the Offspring series (Avon Books), an X-Files meets LOST mix with lots of action and romance, changing my name to Jaime Rush (jaimerush.com] to distinguish them. Also, check out The Hidden series, at Grand Central Publishing, with Dragons, Angels, and
magick.

For those who like their romantic suspense supernatural-free, check out The Justiss Alliance:

When five Navy SEALs take the fall for a covert mission gone wrong, this kick-butt brotherhood joins The Justiss Alliance, a private agency that exacts justice outside the law.

    Series: Love and Light #2

As a followup to UNTIL I DIE AGAIN, one gets to see what happened to Hallie DeBarto when she awakes up in the wrong body. The EMT had sworn she was dead but she woke not in her Hallie DiBarto body but as Marti West, a quiet but calculating waitress in a Florida hick town. Okay, in her mind Hallie knew she had made a lot of mistakes, but this! How could she ever settle in as a bit of a mousey little housewife and pregnant with Jesse West’s child as well!

Hallie was teetering on the edge of a bitter divorce when she was struck with a cerebral stroke, now she was in the body of woman who had been assaulted and raped. All she can think of is wanting to get back to California and her old life. But, Jesse had one request – stay until the baby is born.

Hallie struggles to conform to this new life and his tight-knit family, but now she is also trying to stay alive as the person who assaulted her is still on her track and waiting to finish the job of murdering her.

Wow, this was quite the mystery and really had a lot of edge-of-the-seat moments as well as a lot of sensualness as Jessi and Marti/Hallie began to have feelings for one another. The villain in the piece was pretty much kept a secret up until the spine chilling end although I had figured it out by then. However, it truly was a great story and as this series is nowhere to being done. I am looking forward to grabbing more books in this Love and Light series.

A twist on second chances; I enjoyed seeing the heroine's growth and gratitude as she learned the true meaning of love. A bit of suspense and mystery added intrigue to the plot, even as it dealt with the sensitive subject of rape; which I think the author handled well.

The book was such a great read. Just as the first one I read it in one day. The only thing I didn’t like about the book was the name of Marti. It’s a really stupid name for her and didn’t seem to match her or her personality. Other than that the book was amazing.

...because I knew I’d get NOTHING done at home on my days off work! But, I work hard, and I loved taking the time to relax and cuddle up to a 5 star book! The first two books of this series are so different, yet both full of love, uncertainty, and second chances. I typically read suspense books, but I really enjoyed taking a break from that and reading Stranger in the Mirror. There is some suspense, though. The ending was perfect and makes me want more!

Tina Wainscott imbues her books with magical, inexplicable moments or events! The preternaural twist in this manuscript is a fascinating one and I believe it is the premise of the series!
Without giving spoilers or summary I would warn readers as to some troubling triggers in the novel! These aspects are mentioned mostly matter-of-factly!
The plotline has lots of suspense, some romance and lots of twists! Stranger in the Mirror is a very compelling story! While the redundant angst drags on far too long (ad nauseum), the storyline is solid! The protagonists are clueless, as expected, but lovable, eventually!

Not as good as “Until I Die Again” but still a good story. Writing by Tina is good even if the story isn’t as good. I also can see new stories that I would love to have her write based on these two stories.
Read it, it is worth the time, energy & money.

Wow, I’m glad I found this author because the last two books have been page turners. I just didn’t want to put them down. Strongly recommend reading this.

Enjoyable read. Quirky with likeable characters. Bit far fetched in some places but nice escapist story. Would have liked the story to link more to previous book
