Spectacular ending to the series! I devoured this in one day I didn't want to put the book down I needed to know how things would work out for Van and Julia, would they finally get the wedding they deserved? What would happen to Wade Pharmaceuticals? What would happen to Madison? Plus so many more questions and thankfully we get the answers to all of them. BLACK KNIGHT picks up right where GOLD LUST left off, this series needs to be read in the order of release, with Van and Julia's wedding day being...ummm shall we say interrupted. As events unfold Van and Julia are separated temporarily but watch out because when they come back together they are ready to fight this battle to the end and it would behoove certain people to not get in their way. This ending was everything you could want for a Van and Julia, after all of the twists and turns that kept readers on the edge of their seats I can finally say things have come to a halt and we are gifted the most epic of endings. I for one was cheering at the end, because Lena will be getting her own HEA this fall in SILVER LINING! I would recommend this series to anyone that enjoys Steamy Romantic Suspense Reads or Age Gap Romances. Happy Reading!!!

    Before you read this book, I hope you have read the first three books in this series because as usual they are awesome and our, author Aleatha Romig knows how to turn your world upside down when she brings a series to their conclusion. This book contains plenty of romance, drama, lie and betrayal but it is worth purchasing and reading this series to its conclusion. We find in the Gold Lust book #3 in the Sin Series, Madison, his brother Phillip's wife is in Ashland and intends on getting rid of Julia and marrying Donovan, because in her mind she believes that she is his only true love but in actuality, it is hatred of his twin brother that keeps him going. Donovan is the youngest of the Thomas triplets, his sister Olivia is the oldest, then Phillip and then Donovan. So, we are left at the point of the cliffhanger where Donovan has figured out that Madison is in his house with Julia and has either killed or is planning on killing her. We get to find out about Lena Montgomery and what she is to Donovan and why she is still hanging around. In this story we get a look at the family dynamics between Donovan and his sister Olivia, which is not much in the way of family love because of blood. We finally get to find out Madison did what she did and how she got to Ashland to do it. We, also, find out what Phillip and Logan Butler are up to. Most of all we find out what had Skylar and Julia's parents trying to force her to marry. There so many twists and turns and even several plot lines and as Aleatha usually does in her stories you get one surprise after another, you get Aleatha'd. I highly recommend this book.

    This book was suspenseful the whole way through! Once you start reading, you really just don’t want to stop! The action is nonstop! Being book 4, it begins with the ending to book 3 as a prequel. Where Donovan is shot and Julia, Margret and Vicki are all poisoned! You begin the book not knowing who’s going to survive and who might die, so immediately you’re reading as quickly as you can just to find out what happens next! I absolutely fell in love with Van and Julia when I first read the White Ribbon novella in an anthology. Thank goodness the author fell in love with them too and decided to write 4 books just for Van and Julia! This is a simply must read series! I loved every second of these books. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    This series has all of the potential and promise to be a 5 star series and more if not for a few key elements...

    This series is riveting. It sucks you in from the jump, and by the time you reach the end of Red Sin (Book 1), you're devouring the series, not wanting to put it down. The reason for this is the overarching story is extremely compelling.

    Donovan (Van) Sherman is the force that drives the story. He's the enigma. While he doesn't lie by commission, he definitely tries to skirt the lines through deliberate omissions. He's one of those Alphahole enigmas that you have to peel the layers from like an onion. The unknown elements of his past are what keep you turning pages and reading as fast as you can through the twists and turns as karma comes calling right when he finally has everything he ever wanted.

    Julia is by far one of the most well-constructed lead female characters I've ever read. The emotional maturity of this 24 yr old (to Van's 41) is well beyond her years. All she really needed was someone to SEE her and believe in her.

    Yet, even though I voraciously read all 4 books in 2 -3 days with my heart racing and needing to know what could possibly happen next and what certain things meant, there are 3 major reasons why I can't give these books 5 stars. 1) The timeline - there is SOOOOO much that happens in this story, and the reader is expected to believe that the bulk happens within a matter of a month. Which leads us to 2) The ending was both rushed and extremely unsatisfying. Basically, the punishment didn't fit the crime. When Van finally explains at the end what compelled him to do everything in his past that caused all of the events that transpired, to say it was anticlimactic is being kind. My thought was, "That's it? Really? You have got to be kidding me!" Finally, 3) the sex scenes leave A LOT to be desired. Red sin is my new favorite phrase. I absolutely LOVE it and its explanation. But, once again, there's a disconnect between it and the physical relationship between these characters as described (or as NOT described truthfully). You can FEEL the chemistry between these two, and if you're going to write sex scenes, especially using the phrase "red sin" across all 4 books, then those scenes really need to be at that level - but they're not. They're not bad, just lacking. I'm fine with books that don't go to that level, but with the build up and descriptions leading up to such scenes as are presented here, I expect a great deal more.

    Hopefully, this author improves these areas in other books/series. 4 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 is all I can go.

    A wonderful conclusion to a wonderful series. Even though Van may be the wolf, and Julia appears to be the prey, she certainly rises above adversity. Van is left disabled by Madison’s actions, as a result Van’s empire is run by Lena, and Julia realises many things. The story is full of drama, counter drama, intrigue and wildly romantic scenes. The wedding alone is wonderful and so emotional. It is wonderful written as ever and flows seamlessly to a fabulous HEA. Yet again leaving the reader well and truly Aleatha’d.

    I enjoyed but the 4th and final book I started skipping through quickly. It was slow and repetitive and lacked suspense. By now it was easy to figure out what was coming next and how it will end. Too much corporate jargon and a lot of I love you, I love you and I love you. I found the hero really didn’t take responsibility for his role for everyone’s demise. Like his infertile psycho older twin brother and we never did find out why he couldn’t sign the divorce papers. Everyone paid a price but he got a HEA.
