As an ex-university academic and now working as a celebrity psychologist, I welcome this profound refreshing, and illuminative new book by my esteemed friend Mariett Ramm. Having been a former researcher in feminist ideology and changing threatened female identities, Mariett has through this inspirational work provided an innovative therapeutic approach to how women can become empowered women in a threatening male-dominated corporate world. Mariette's book ought to be on everyone's bookshelf to educate inform and provide the stimulus for an attitude change on feminist empowerment, it will always have a special place on mine.

Mariett taps into the source of my ‘knowing’ and brought my underlying knowledge and attunement into focus by channeling directly from what I now know as 'The source’.
Mariett's skill of translating those feelings and emotions and knowledge that I ‘know’ into words has me believing that this body of work is of high importance to female growth.
I sincerely thank her and feel humbled that she put these feelings and emotions into ‘a text landscape' and I have connected to your words in a way that I didn't think was possible. These ideas have existed before in my ‘consciousness' but the words have not. Deepest thanks to Mariett for committing ‘her knowing’ in words.

A one-stop overview on the subject of female empowerment!
Mariett Ramm, in ‘The Eve Code’ pulls off her noble goal to empower women everywhere by providing a user guide to “authentic, self-empowered femininity”. Steering clear of fixating on the disadvantages or inequalities of women operating in the corporate world or expressing ‘anti male’ viewpoints (although she does give a thorough overview of gender inequality in the workplace), the author takes a more philosophical viewpoint, promoting the Taoist belief system of ‘conquering through yielding’ and through stillness. However, though she launches the opening chapter of her book with a spiritual foundation, she moved on to empower her readers through a business, wellness and scientific point of view, indeed providing support to the ‘whole woman’ rather than just a single area of life. A good book to devour if you’re looking for a one-stop overview on the subject of female empowerment.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2022I normally don't read non-fiction books because they bore me to death and don't keep me engaged with the book so I end up just the first five chapters maybe to see if the book will start getting interesting but it hardly ever does. So imagine my surprise when I started reading this book, bought it not too long ago and couldn't put it down till now. There's nothing not to like about the book, it's honest and raw about us women and how we can get to where we want as long as in not so many words but basically take our heads out of, seebutts, sure it'll take awhile but gotta start sometime. The Eve Code is a blessing in disguise and I pray that everyone reads it, Mariett Ramm is a genius for writing this book, lol now I'm gonna reread this book and also see any more books from her
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2025Mariett Ramm's The Eve Code is a personal development book meant to spark women to become their own "Chief Empowerment Officer." Taking a mix of philosophy, personal development techniques, and self-empowerment principles, the book seeks to provide women with a guide to achieving success in their personal and professional lives. Although the book has some highly interesting insights and reasonable perspectives, it also is not without some deficiencies that ensure it is not an impeccable read.
Positives
Philosophical Complexity and a Holistic Perspective
You of course draw from a variety of fields including Taoism, psychology, and spirituality. The thought of cycles and opposites, the way our emotional highs and lows form who you are, made sense in a way that might not sound too obvious to readers, so I found that extremely interesting.
→ A Prompt for Introspection
The Eve Code takes its time, and unlike most self-help books that provide motivational platitudes to regurgitate, it asks you to dig deeper. She writes that women should look to themselves instead of seeking other people's permission, which is aligned with more sustainable self-improvement practices.
Tackling Feminine Power as an Alternative to Hyper-Feminism
For one thing, the book avoids becoming anti-male. Instead, it recognizes that both genders have their respective roles, while encouraging women to realize that they should stop acting like corporate men, when naturally they already have the upper hand.
Negatives
More of the Same, and Excessive Philosophy
I found a lot of the book interesting, but a lot of it is repeated numerous times with slight wording changes. Some chapters feel overly redundant — as if they could have been foreshortened without losing their effect.
Lack of Practical Application
While the work is philosophical in its approach to empowerment, it isn't always clear to the reader what they can do. It was interesting to read the discussion of cycles of emotions but, practically speaking, it’s not going to help many women understand how to use this knowing in everyday life.
Editing Issues
Not that it’s full of mistakes, but the book has a few grammatical discrepancies and sentences awkwardly constructed. And as the self-help genre is quite sensitive to the need for professionalism, it is a bit of a dent.
Final Thoughts
The Eve Code is an eyeopener that makes a better read and is well written and researched and prompts women to take charge of their lives be it personal or professional. Yet, it’s not without its weaknesses. The book gets very heavy into abstract philosophy — perhaps at times to the detriment of clear, actionable advice. A tighter edit might have made it flow better.
No hedge is provided for readers who find such philosophical and introspective self-help books upbeat though, as if it was the best thing one could do in life. But those in search of a more structured, step-by-step guide to empowerment may be disappointed.
Would I recommend it? Yes, but with reservations. This book is best appreciated by the reader who likes an earnest, philosophical exploration of inner power and cycles of human behavior. However, if you want a more traditional self-help with followed action plans, you might find it frustrating.
Final Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Stars — A fine read with good takeaways although less would be more.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2022This is one of the best books I have read in a while. The main focus is on self acceptance and awareness. But I really enjoyed the connection and references to Lao Tzu’s Tao Te Ching. It brings in a spiritual aspect to the lessons presented in the book. I also think the information has the potential to reach further than just women. Learning to become your own empowerment officer takes self-awareness, self-actualization, and self-determination, combined with a lot of hard work. Practicing mindfulness, becoming a good listener, and journaling have all helped me on my journey. So I can definitely attest to the recommendations that Mariett Ramm has made in the book. For those looking to improve life in general, this may be the book for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2022This book is excellent for the woman that is always looking to grow and evolve into her best self, professionally and personally. The Eve Code brings a fresh and unique perspective to this genre that I have never seen before. I love non-fiction ‘self help’ books for women and it is rare that something new like this comes along.
Right from the Intro of this book the reader gets where this book will be going, subjects that will be discussed, as well as what this book is not. I appreciated the fact that the book included great tips. Most importantly I appreciated the use of facts, science, psychology, and spirituality to bring a greater understanding and empowerment into what it is to be a woman and feminine.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2022Mariett Ramm is a creative genius. Her ambition and thought provoking approach to inspiring women come together perfectly to create The Eve Code. This empowering book is a refreshing take on women’s empowerment in the professional and personal circle. I thoroughly enjoyed every chapter of her inspirational narrative. Mariett not only lifts up other women, she gives them the tools to reach their highest potential. The Eve Code is an absolute must for any woman in your life.

4.0 out of 5 stars A truly inspirational read
The introduction was clear and I got a good understanding of the book from the off. I enjoyed the author’s writing style, it was personal and close to their heart, as they would put it: empowered and true to the authentic self.
The author writes in a way that is not patronising, as so many of these empowerment and self-help books can be, but rather offers insight and potential techniques in which women can be empowered and succeed in life. They acknowledge that there’s no ‘magic cure’, which is respectful to the reader as anyone reading this has already (most likely) understood that they would have to put a lot of hard work into reshaping themselves.
I learned about Taoism, which was really interesting as I had no education on the subject and while I am not an expert, it was an interesting learning curve to understand that women have an equal role in spirituality and ultimately, life. As a woman, I feel the blunt effect of living in a masculine world, and it was great to have this realised through this book and that we do have a place in this world.
“…Never apologise for being sensitive or emotional. It’s a sign that you have a big heart and that you aren’t afraid to let others see it. Showing your emotions is a sign of strength…”
So often we are told to keep a stiff upper lip and to grow up and not be so emotional, and being someone who regularly cries in every new Disney movie, this resonates with me. It makes me feel like I am still a person and when something affects me in such a way, showing emotion is another way for me to communicate. I really liked Chapter 5 for the fact that I felt seen and heard. That’s a really powerful thing for an author to be able to communicate in written words.
Understanding fear, anxiety, learning to forgive, and also living a life of purpose are other ways that this book has hit the nail on the head for me as so often we just live by surviving rather than live by enjoying our lives and having a sense of purpose. The author makes suggestions as to how to improve your life, by explaining how to be strong and how to become more grounded and stable.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book as the insights were inspirational, it’s a great read for when you’re feeling that you have a low mood, or you need a little pick me up, or even when you feel you could do with some help in how to direct your life and prioritise things in life. The only thing this book lacks is references. There’re so many inspirational quotes, it would be wonderful to see where they come from as well validating the authors’ own theories and how they got their conclusion. But as a light, meaningful read, it is a good one!
