Marty loses two of his shadows. He escorts Napoleon to St Helena. James is becoming his own man and Beth is following her fathers footsteps.

Would have given it five stars if there hadn’t been so many grammar and spelling errors. Poor editing. Or, more likely, no editing.

As Marty continues his work in the Mediterranean he is suddenly is called home to England. He and his family are ordered to India to help the governor and route out foreign mercenaries. Their son and daughter get their feet wet.

Action in Europe, the Med, and India. All within the confines of a single book. The author did a great job expanding the depth of character of the children, particularly Beth. Look forward to the next volume.

Enjoyable diversion but don't expect great ideas - or correct spelling and grammar. Needs a copy editor! Occasional historical lapses but not surprising.

Another great episode in The Dorset Boy. Beth and James play more important parts in this story. Can’t wait for more “family” adventures.

“ slightly slipping “is how I describe this sequel in the series. It read like Mr. Tubbs was losing interest in Marty and the gang. The series started with a bang but is, apparently, crawling to a close. Not as interesting and not equal to his earlier novels.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what I came for

This characters are essentially invincible, any realistic historical background is put aside and instead all sorts of modern inventions are turning the "team" into some sort of super-hero commando organization long before the SAS. Read this if you like to know ahead of the story that the protagonist will always be the smartest and strongest and win against arbitrary odds. I'm done, though.

The latest book in what has been a very enjoyable series . If you are not familiar with this series I would suggest that you start with book 1 , and then read on . You will be instantly hooked , believe me.
I thought that this series might end after the battle of Waterloo, but that is not the case. It gets even better !! I am waiting for the next book .

...just what's needed, between the more complex or serious books. The series never fails although a few darker bits might be good. Goodies and Baddies are still entertaining to read.
