Well, I must say, I'm in awe of HJ Bellus. Her talent amazes me. This book was fantastic. I couldn't put it down, was almost late for work, because I wanted to finish it.

Blue has turned into one of my favorite characters. She's strong, fierce, confident, and very determined. But she's also caring and full of compassion. At times I found myself yelling at her, but then I turned right around and was cheering for her. And after experience, I found myself cheering for her even more. Tuck, the mysterious football player. You can tell he was dealing with his own issues, when we first meet him. And boy does he have some issues. But that doesn't stop him and Blue from connecting. I loved how she pursued him and even though he rejected her, she didn't stop. Her confidence, blew me away. She knew what she wanted and was going to get it. I know I say this alot about HJ Bellus books, but I freaking loved it. The story and the characters had me not wanting it to end. Great job HJ!!

This book intrigued me, so when it was released, I immediately went and one-clicked it to jump right in.

Blue is about Blue Williams who is a freshman in college, learning to live life away from her parents and accomplishing the goals she has set for herself in cheer-leading, and navigating the new college social scene. On her first day at school she meets Lane, junior football player, who embarrasses her into sitting with a few of the guys while they grab some food. One guy at the table intrigues her and she can't get him out of her head. Tuck is elusive and doesn't talk much, but soon they get into a rhythm after an embarrassing fall on the face during a night run, of running at night, without talking.

This cat and mouse game goes back and forth between Blue and Tuck for a while, he'll kiss her at a party, and then go AWOL for weeks without a word. He keeps warning Blue away from him, but she's stubborn and knows there is something there that draws her to Tuck. I really loved this part of the story, watching these two go back and forth, then finally getting to know each other and giving each other a chance. It did suck that something awful had to happen to Blue for Tuck to finally realize he wanted to let her in and give this thing with them a go.

Tuck and Blue are perfect together, only if Tuck can get over his own hangups about his past, and why he's so insistent that Blue shouldn't love him. When his truth comes out, Blue continues to try to tell Tuck it doesn't matter, and she doesn't care about his imperfections, but Tuck has a hard time believing her. Blue proves to Tuck over and over again that she truly loves him, but Tuck only ever seems to give her a part of himself, always scared that she will leave him. Their relationship is amazing though and I loved watching Tuck come out of his shell and learning to live his life with Blue in it. Noah, Tuck and Blue's best friend, is also amazing and very supportive of the two of them and I think we all need a Noah in our lives.

For the first 80% of so of this book I absolutely loved it and was in awe of how quickly I got pulled into this story and couldn't put it down. Then things took a turn, and confused me. I thought, maybe this book is a 2 part book and started to prepare myself for a cliff hanger, but no, the book went a little too fast for the last part, things happened, that I believe should have been more detailed and I was in shock during the last chapter, thinking... there has to be more. There wasn't. We got an epilogue that talked about years after the incident, but I felt like the last 20% or so of this book was thrown together and not consistent with how beautiful and amazing the first part of the book was. I was so invested in these characters, to see things change so abruptly for them I was a little in shock. I really wished we would have had more details and the last part of this book wasn't as rushed as it was.

The epilogue is heartbreaking and beautiful all at the same time. I was glad we were able to see how Blue and Tuck ended up, but was left wanting more Blue and Tuck. This is truly an amazing book, but like I said the ending was too rushed for my liking, but that doesn't change how much I truly loved Blue and Tuck. Rating this book was hard, because the first 80% was a definite 5+ star read for me, but the last part was a 2-3 star read.

I do suggest everyone picking this one up, it is a beautiful story of a modern day Beauty and Beast!

This was my first H.J. Bellus book, but it definitely won't be my last. This story totally blew me away and kept me turning the pages straight through in one reading.

Blue Williams is a smart mouthed, fun spirited, cheer leader, and the kind of girl that everyone wants to be friends with. On her first day at Preston University, she catches the eye of some college football players (dreamboats). As she tries to remain low key to Lane and Ethan for her to eat with them and meet their team mates.... Enter ---- Tuck Jones, running back for the college team. She is instantly drawn to him, like a moth to light.

Tuck is very quite and mysterious and he keeps to himself. He gives Blue very little of his time or attention, but you can feel the pull between them. When he starts to let Blue in little by little his walls begin to crumble. With the twists and turns in this book you will be left wondering if love is enough to overcome dark pasts and personal insecurities.

I absolutely loved Blue & Tuck, but the supporting characters were just as memorable. The dynamic of Blue's parents, Tuck's family, their friends - Sophie, Lane, & Noah was just as important to this story, especially the one-liners from Blue's dad! "I'm a surgeon, not a pussy." LOL!!!!

HJ knows how to pull you into a story and not let go. I read this book in on sitting, it has everything you could want in a romance; lust, drama, suspense, humor, second chances, and especially love. Don't take my word for it, get your copy now and meet Blue and Tuck! <3

I love all things sports related, especially football. With the heroine being a cheerleader, the book scored double points with me. This book was such a fun read with all the college type drama and angst. The characters were all likeable, and the plot kept me entertained. Then Bellus throws in the serious stuff and takes you for a wild ride. I couldn't believe the plot twist near the end, and OMG did it have my heart racing! I am a huge fan of HJ Bellus and love all her series books! This standalone was perfect and is easily one that I would recommend.
