4.6 out of 5 stars 157 ratings

She’s making a run toward hope, love, and family and she’s not letting go.

Orphaned as a young girl, Ella longs for a life she’s only read about in books. To escape a desperate situation, she heads west as a mail-order bride, narrowing her choice of spouse to three brothers, a millwright, a businessman, and a horse trainer, all searching for a marriage of convenience which will provide the inheritance that will finance the family’s business venture in Oklahoma.
Newspapers claim the unchartered territory is a land where streams flow with milk and the heavens rain down a supply of honey. Will her road lead to the Promised Land?

From the very beginning, the story began painting a picture in my mind, with the vivid descriptions and characters created by the talented pen of this author. The emotions of Ella, striving so hard to find a place of her own with a family and land, so she could work hard and create stability.

A time in history opens up with the land grab in Oklahoma commencing, where so many people were desperate to find a homestead. Ella had agreed to be a mail order bride to one of her employer's nephews, and traveled out to the territory.

Merle and his brothers wanted to find land for each of them and build their dreams. He wanted a wife, but how could he take one before he had everything ready?

What a wonderful tale of trying to build a life and finding happiness and love, all with faith and perseverance!!

This is a new series. We are no longer in Carrie Town but part of the land race of Oklahoma. New characters and new place. This will be interesting for future books.
While not my favorite of all her books it is interesting. Ella and Merle are interesting characters. Ella coming from Georgia due to the passing of her boss. Merle a young man who has committed himself as the protector of his family.
This is a clean book and Definitely worth a read.

This is a sweet mail order bride tale. Merle is a ranchers son and he and two of his brothers are one of his grandmothers heirs, only with stipulations. Ella was an orphan that from the age of twelve worked of Merle’s grandparents ranch. She had a hard upbringing before his grand parents took her to work for them. They passed on and she was left a small inheritance also with stipulations. She agrees to become Merle’s bride although he is not to sure about giving up his bachelorhood., but he badly wants that ranch of his own. He and his two brothers are headed off to the land Run in Oklahoma Indian territory. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.

After being orphaned as a young child, Ella wants a home. A land run is about to begin in a "land of milk and honey" and she decides to join and find a home for herself. This book describes the group she found that were going to this paradise and Ella joins. She meets a man who is also looking for land to establish a place where he can chase his dreams to have a family and they decide to work together because of their feelings for each other.

Read this book to get the whole story. I enjoyed this book and hope you enjoy it also.

This is an awesome book.different than the same mail order/land rush books. This author writes with love for her characters and soon you can’t help but fall n love with them as well. Feeling the emotions they feel as they anticipated their futures.
She write with the love of Christ and lets that same love show through her characters quoting scripture and referring to Queen Esther. Such a destimony for God.

Merle has plenty of thoughts on what a marriage relationship should be like. Ella’s thoughts are not the same. It takes him a while to rearrange his ideas of how things should be. Ella is certainly a surprise for him in so many ways. Ella has some trouble convincing Merle. But he eventually begins changing his opinion. I very much enjoyed their journey in life and in their relationship. My favorite quote is, “If you’re talking, I’m listening.”
