Murphy's historical non-fiction, exemplified by the critically acclaimed "World War II: The 103rd Cactus Division Story," transports readers to bygone eras with an authenticity that belies his masterful storytelling. Yet, he deftly pivots to biting satire with works like "The Second Coming,A Satire" [reviewed by Betty White RIP who found it wonderful] showcasing his remarkable versatility and wit. A delve into the world of politics and rogue military leaders finds “Abduction of the President” a must read for followers of thrillers. Its ending is a shocker.
But Murphy's talents extend far beyond the realms of adult fiction. His engaging writing style shines through in his beloved children's series, featuring delightful tales like the series "The Adventures of Linky Boy and Zelda," enchanting young minds and fostering a love for literature in the next generation of readers.
Murphy's screenplays have garnered widespread acclaim, earning recognition from prestigious film festivals worldwide. The Beverly Hills Film Festival named "Amber Room Treasures" an official selection, while the Charleston Film Festival placed it in the top 25%. "Amber Room Treasures" also won The Finalist Award at the Mountain Film Festival, and "You Can Call Me Jay" secured The Finalist Selection at the Oaxaca Independent Film and Video Festival in Mexico.
His creative offerings are as vast as they are captivating, ranging from the critically acclaimed short story collection "Critics' Choice: 27 Fabulously Entertaining Short Stories" to the thought-provoking "Revenge: What Goes Around Comes Around,"
His prolific output continues with the recent releases of "Elvis Tribute And Other Incredible Stories," a thriller titled "Sound Of Money," and "An Original Car Guy: The E. B. Gallaher Story," a fascinating biography of an automotive pioneer who created his own fortune and bequeathed it to his alma mater, only for his legacy to mysteriously vanish into the annals of history.
Other notable works include the compelling short story compilation "The Cottage: Thirteen Terrific Short Stories," the darkly humorous "I Killed the Bastards," and the insightful "So You Want to Be A Landlord...Tales From The Crypt," a humorous yet practical guide to navigating the world of investment real estate.
His gripping mystery/thriller "Bunker Treasures: A Search For The Amber Room" delves into the art world's dark ties to Hitler's thievery during World War II, meticulously weaving fact and fiction in a compelling exploration of the ongoing search for the elusive Amber Room.
Rounding out his impressive body of work is "Life, Love, Remembrances," a poetic journey adorned with Murphy's own original artwork, a testament to his boundless creative spirit and multifaceted talents.
