An Unwanted Suitor: A Regency Romance Novella Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 17 ratings

She believes in love. He’s an unrepentant rake.

Compromised by a renowned rake, Calliope Rennell faces a marriage of convenience. But she believes in love and refuses to accept a loveless marriage. Besides, could a rake ever be faithful to her?

Willis, the Earl of Charlton, has no interest in marriage. Then at a ball, he accidentally compromises a debutante and finds the prospect may suit him. After all, he’d no longer have matrimonial minded mothers and their daughters scheming to entrap him. Only problem is the honorable and virtuous Calliope desires a love match and refuses to marry him.

An Unwanted Suitor is a standalone, sweet Regency Romance novella with delightful characters and dash of humor.

As an avid reader, I became a fan of Georgette Heyer's Regency novels, then started writing Regency romance novels as a hobby. I particularly enjoy writing about strong, resourceful women in an age where it was thought that women were incapable of taking care of themselves and couldn't own property.

Kindle e-books have allowed me to grow as a writer. With each novel, I have made mistakes, but I have learned so much along the way. I like to read reviews from my readers and am thankful that they take the time to critique my work.

I am currently retired in beautiful Port Royal, SC, with my husband and our dog Sally, happily working away on my next novel.

Margaret Bennett writes delightful Regency romances. A young woman who has been compromised, a rake with a scheming mother, the plot may not be new but it is the skill of the author who can still create an interesting story.

Margaret Bennett does a really great job writing Regency tales. I have read a number of her books and have re-read them. This is the second time I have read this one. She keeps to the language of the times and make believe you are there. Callie and Willis are enjoyable characters. They are smartly written without going over your head. They are written for adults, but young people would enjoy them too. Her books are light hearted without being silly.
