    The Curse: A novel in the Breedline Series by Shanah Congrove engrosses readers in the world of a variety of characters, including humans, vampires, shifters, werewolves, and one hellish demon. I was immediately drawn to Joseph. After reading the chapter about him and Carrie, I couldn't get enough. Throughout his life, he had been damaged and broken, but then he met her. Your heart aches for him as you hope that he can find a way out of the horrors he endured with the Shadow.

    Several subplots are also involved in the book regarding the other characters, Jena being one of them. I had not read any other books in the series, so I was unaware of how these characters came to be; nonetheless, they were all very interesting and complex. It was enjoyable to see their camaraderie and the paired couples' relationships. There was such a sense of loyalty and support among these characters.

    A twist will catch you off guard and you won't like, but I don't want to reveal too much or give anything away. All characters' stories come together and connect with Joseph's and Carrie's. The book's ending brings peace and happiness to all. This book is a must-read for fantasy and paranormal romance fans.

    An excellently detailed fantasy novel swirled with all kinds of horror with a budding romance. I haven't read any of the other books in this series but it stood well on it's own with plenty of background to catch new readers of the series up to speed.

    The story follows the Breedline, a secret covenant of humans that can shape-shift into wolves. Mix this up with one of the main characters, Joseph; who has had a hard life and for two decades living with a demonic spirit possessed in him known as the shadow and you have a great novel.

    The book has an immense storyline with the Breedline tracking down Joseph; the knowledge of experiments being done illegally; concerning people and vampires. Interestingly enough with a group of evil vampires as well as a group of hybrids which were a group of good vampires.

    This novel had the perfect blend of paranormal, fantasy, science fiction; as well as the huge collection of shapeshifters, vampires, as well as a possession by a demon on a young man who hasn't had the easiest life. All in all I felt this was a great action packed classic story.

    I look forward to going back and reading some of the author's other books. I also look forward to her future books, whether in this series or a new one!!!!!

    This is a great story! I loved all the characters! This is not only about Joe and Carrie but a whole slew of other characters whose stories run simultaneously. The story is engaging and entertaining. I was wondering many times “what was going to happen next?”

    While I enjoyed this story the narration really brought it to life. Pretty sure I mentioned the numerous characters in here. Well the narrator, Isaiah Fowler, had a different voice for EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. It was amazing! Where has this person been all my listening life? This is a new favorite narrator for me!

    This book is extremely well written with cryptid characters that are very relatable. Although this book is quite long I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the ending is superb. I would highly recommend this book and all others written by the very talented author

    The Curse, the sixth book of the Breedline series: All I can say is WOW. Shana just keeps coming up with such good stories, and original ideas, and weaving several plotlines in such a way that it keeps you guessing, and keeps you wanting to learn what happens next! This book really kept me going, and I was SHOOK when I got to the plot twist towards the end! That one really took me by surprise! Shana, you really got me with that one!

    It's a paranormal romance fantasy based in the real world, and for romance fans there is some spice that should satisfy you, and for non-spice lovers, it's not overwhelming. Matter of fact, there's the least amount of spice in this book, compared to the previous three books I've read (I started on book 3), and as a non-romance kinda girl, I'm feeling A-okay about that! However, it might not be enough for some super spicy fans out there, but I hope you'll still give it a try in spite of that. The rest of the book makes up for this, I promise!

    This is the last book in the series that is currently published, and it's supposed to keep on going. Needless to say, I will be wanting to read the next book! Matter of fact, I already do! I love the relationships that Shana has shared with us, and I love the world building she's done with her stories. In this book, she wrote about love, justice, redemption, loyalty, the importance of family, and the ability of Good to triumph over Evil, and how faith in God can overcome extreme adversity. Shana has done such a good job with her books, and I for one cannot wait to keep on reading about the Breedline!

    This book surprised me with the unique storyline. It deals with the conscious decision to do the right thing when the main hero has been possessed by a demon all his life. He finds himself losing spaces of time. There are paranormals who govern the threats to humans. There are many twists and turns in this book. I enjoyed this book. The narrator did an excellent job of keeping me gripped to listening til the end.

    I purchased and listened to this on Audible books.
    Though I was informed this is a stand-alone book there are quite a few references to pervious events and people that I did not have. This is the 1st book by this author I listened to.
    Good story, though I wish I knew all the background story too! Narrator does an Excellent job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.
