◆◆ These characters are honestly in my heart to stay, much like ‘Angel’ and the ‘Charmed’ sisters are all these years later.◆◆
◆◆ The Younglings are like a modern, and way hotter, Scooby squad. ◆◆
◆◆ A demon, angel, werewolf, half-vampire, witch and ghost?! Plus, there's a LGBTQ+ rep, which is perfect. ◆◆

Review
"Younglings: Fire & Magic," is author Helena M. Craggs' magical mystery tour de force sequel to "Shadows & Magic," the first in her Younglings series. Five stars is too few to convey how brightly this book shines in the YA fantasy genre. Younglings: Fire & Magic" is perfect for young and not-so-young adults who enjoy a story that won't let them go and characters who worm their way into your heart. A third book in the series is underway and I can't wait to re-enter the entertaining and evocative world built by talented author Helena Craggs."

- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2022I didn't know at the I started reading this book, that it is book two in a trilogy. However, that fact is not an issue, as the book is written such that enough from book one is brought into this one to make this book a standalone read, except, one will want to read book three when it comes out with the cliffhanger this book leaves! This book has it all, the magical characters exhibit a full range of emotions, and one particular love scene is written in such a way that anyone would yearn for love, and written without coarse language. That makes even that scene a cut above for all the feels and emotions without coarse language or scene descriptions added. The Younglings face their share of family, battles, love, and more in this epic book. Although The Younglings are a younger group, one need not be age 17 to 30 in order to feel like this book suits them. Anyone who loves the supernatural world will love this five star book!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2022“The Younglings: Fire and Magic” is the second instalment of the Younglings fantasy series penned by Helena M. Craggs.
This book is such a page-turner that I’ve read it in two days, grabbing every opportunity to read, even if I had only twenty free minutes.
Quinn Carter and his team are back, and we join the party when it’s in full swing. The young Keepers have their schedules packed with both supernatural and real-life issues, all of them challenging and leaving absolutely no space for boredom. When you are young, hot, and with superpowers – even if for some they don’t come from magic but from a uniquely high IQ – how can your life be anything but exciting? And thanks to Helena M. Craggs we readers get to enjoy the exhilarating ride together with her characters.
While reading, I smiled, giggled, and had my heart flutter with worry for the characters’ well-being that is being put at risk due to their noble mission to protect the innocent. I nodded somewhat condescendingly when the maximalism of the youth took an upper hand and forced the young people to take rushed – usually irrational! – decisions. Haven’t we all been there, vehemently believing that we and one we can take control of our lives, disregarding the opinions of people we love? I loved how masterfully the author managed to tread the thin line between showing her characters' strength and dedication to the path chosen and their insecurity about how real-life relationships work. I found the vulnerability of characters endowed with powerful magical gifts extremely appealing.
Another thing that I love about this series is the depiction of friendship ties between the characters. The Quinn’s crew is of a sort we all wanted to be a part of when we were teenagers. Moreover, I think that those of us who don’t have a circle of friends from school/college/university years, still dream about “finding our own pack”. While those who are blessed to have saved friendships from their youth days realise how exclusively lucky they are.
Well, I could go on babbling about how much I loved the second book of the Younglings, but I think it would be better if you stopped reading my review and dived right into reading about Quinn’s team adventures. The story has it all! Mysterious billionaire, a secret council of the supernaturals, dangerous vampires, moody werewolves – ooops, only don’t call Miguel a werewolf, or you’ll be in big trouble! –, young love and all the delicious sufferings that come with it, bad guys who think they’ve perfected their skills of disguising their gruesome hobbies… and much more.
As you’ve probably guessed, I’m among those readers who eagerly await the next instalment of the Younglings series.

Certain situations call for well thought out stupidity.
Thoughts: 💡
I think teens would like this story because the characters make the sort of decisions and have the thought processes that are age appropriate with their insecurities and misguided ideas plaguing their thoughts.
Writing Mechanics: ✍️
The story is a very fast paced story with a focus on the characters. There always seems to be several plots in each book. Some of them appear in succession with a few story arcs through the whole book. There are elements in the story that reminded me of Twilight with plenty of sparkly vampires, shapeshifters, werewolves, demons, angels, and ghosts.
Narration: 🔊
The narrator is a fast talker and I enjoy his voice when he does a single accent, but there are multiple accents and dialects in this book and I think it would be a struggle for anyone to do on their own. The sound quality is clear with a steady volume and pace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!
I love these books and H. Craggs didn't disappoint! The story picks up right where The Younglings, Shadows and Magic, ended. There's lots of adventure and action in this book, but also the love story between Eve and Quinn continues. This book is a page turner, with the characteristic witty writing and funny lines we already found in the first one. Also, whenever I picked it up I ended up staying much later than I intended to, because it keeps you wanting to know what is going to happen next. There are ghosts, vampires, shifters and demons, just like in the previous one. If the first book was great, I'd say this one is even better. A great sequel, which left me wanting to read the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars You don't know what you've got until it's gone
Young love can be suffocating. Quinn breaks up with Eve because he knows he will suffocate her. Being a half-demon isn’t easy and he tries to keep his temper in check. Demons are lurking to be driven out. The team form an even stronger bond and have each other’s backs. There’s lots of fire and magic to keep any YA fantasy enthusiasts turning pages to see what happens next, especially when Quinn asks Eve to marry him… I love the romance throughout the story and look forward to Book 3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced supernatural adventure
This is the second book I’ve read in The Younglings series and I have to say that this was as compelling if not more so than the previous read. I was intrigued by the ever increasing adventures of the group of young supernaturals who, powers aside (which I would love to have any of them) are a relatable bunch of friends who leave you rooting for them and wanting to keep reading because of the nature of the adventure they’re on. A page turner and edge of your seat read, I thoroughly recommend this book…then you will want to keep reading the series. A huge bravo to the author who has brought current day situations into thrilling supernatural reads.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read..!!
A cracking read
If you love the paranormal and supernatural, then Fire & Magic is a must read! I loved book 1, Shadows & Magic, but this sequel is even better. The Younglings are like an up to date, sexy, Scooby squad. The plot is action packed and adventurous, and I love the witty one liners and the sprinkling of romance, too. It’s good to see the crew mature and their bonds of friendship tighten. There’s a few surprises in there, and the ending is clever, leaving it open to the next in the series. Hurry up Ms Craggs because I can’t wait!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great
The Younglings: Fire and Magic book 2 was fantastic and I loved how it dived in giving a little recap of book 1. Just like Shadow and Magic, once I started I could not stop, this novel has a choke hold on you - in a good way!
I loved how even though this is book two we still have character development and world building, though the storyline is heavy. It gives you the feeling something epic is gonna be coming along.
I still love our main characters Quinn and Eve, but I really like Millie. I feel like she's grown and come along way since the first book
