Artek (Seven Brides for Seven Alien Brothers Book 1) Kindle Edition
Worn down by war and conflict, Commander Artek and his brothers - the soldiers under his command - have chosen to start a new life on a backwater planet. As hard work and peaceful surroundings start to heal old wounds, he realizes that something - or rather someone - is missing from his new life.
None of the human females in the small town on the other side of the mountains appeal to him except for the shopkeeper’s daughter. She’s smart, sensible - and disturbingly attractive despite her shapeless clothes and brusque manner.
Although Nelly is rapidly turning into the town spinster, she’d rather be alone than married to one of the local bumpkins. But when one of the mysterious aliens who have taken up residence in the mountains behind the town proposes a union, she sees the chance for a new future. He’s big and gruff - but he treats her as if she’s precious.
But a whirlwind courtship and a hasty marriage are only the beginning. Can two people who know nothing about each other possibly find happiness together?
Each book in the Seven Brides series features a different couple and may be read as a standalone, but the books do link together. This sweet and steamy series is intended for mature readers.

About the author

USA Today bestselling author Honey Phillips writes steamy science fiction romance about hot alien warriors and the Earth women they can’t resist. From abductions to invasions, the ride might be rough, but the end always satisfies.
Honey wrote and illustrated her first book at the tender age of five. Her writing has improved since then. Her drawing skills, unfortunately, have not. She loves writing, reading, traveling, cooking, and drinking champagne - not necessarily in that order.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2025Great intro to the character and the story of Nelly and Artek. Follow their story and watch them blossom. Interesting group of soldiers making their forever home!!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2024When I was young, I saw the movie ‘Seven brides for seven brothers’. I loved that movie and watched it a few times. So my curiosity was immediately piqued when I came across this series ‘Seven brides for seven alien brothers’. When I recently saw that this book was free, I jumped at the chance to buy it and I’m glad I did because I really enjoyed it. This novella length story was both sweet and steamy.
Artek, Benjar, Callum, Drakkar, Endrak, Frantor and Gilmat, the seven alien men weren’t related by blood (they were all of a different race) but they considered each other brothers since they fought together as soldiers in a war that left them scarred both inside and out. When the war ended, they each had their own reasons for not returning home. Instead they followed their commander Artek when he decided to start a new life on the planet Cresca. The quiet life on the farm and in nature gave them peace and a place to heal from the damage the war had done to them. But slowly the men also began to long for something more, for a woman, a mate.
The first one of the alien guys who found a woman was Artek. From the first moment Artek saw Nelly, a human woman in the shop in town, he was intrigued and for two years, he watched her. Now the time had come to make a move and see if the attraction was mutual. To his delight Nelly agreed to marry him and live with him on the ranch together with his six brothers.
The story was told in both POV’s. I liked both main characters very much. Although Artek came from a rich family, he wasn’t arrogant or spoiled. His years as commander and the loss of many men during war, had left him with a huge feeling of responsibility for everyone and everything. Artek was a good guy, he cared for his brothers and Nelly. He wanted the best for everyone. He wasn’t used to sharing his troubles and responsibility with anyone, something that his new wife Nelly really wanted. That created some problems but nothing serious. Nelly was a practical, intelligent, mature, caring and brave woman. She certainly knew how to handle all these big, alien men. She wasn’t afraid of them. I really liked that. The story was sweet with some sex scenes. There weren’t scenes about the war, so that made it a light story. Nelly and Artek were a great couple. It was also fun to see how the brothers interacted with each other, they teased each other, fought but above all were loyal and supported each other. They were all good guys.
I’m looking forward to the other stories in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2025I already see plenty of references to 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, so I won’t even go beyond saying that I love the spin off. Nelly and Artek are so incredibly sweet together. For two years, they watched each other and Artek finally decided to make his move. I do always appreciate the quick resolutions to miscommunications Honey has with her characters, so it makes for a more feel-good read. That’s not to say that each character doesn’t have their own issues to grow through, but it’s all handled well in a compact read. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

This was a more slower paced book than I was anticipating. There isn't any real action, just kind of a nice slow romance. Just a marriage of convenience but they were kind of already in love. It made me think of old westerns (again without any action). It did help really introduce the world and the people, and setup the romances that are coming in the next books. It probably helped my enjoyment of this that I'd never heard of the movie that the book is based on.
The h's age isn't confirmed but my guesstimate is late 20s early 30s. The H's age isn't confirmed, I think he's older but it didn't feel like an age gap. Not sure if any of the aliens live longer than humans.
The h isn't a virgin, it's been a long time since her last (she only ever had one partner for not very long). The H isn't a virgin, only background given is that he was 'instructed in how to please a female'. No BC.
Spice is 3 fires out of 5.
No sexual assault.
Epilogue I think 7 to 8 months later.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2022A frontier-style world with some frontier-style humans and the aliens who are trying to build a new life for themselves after surviving a war. Artek and his brothers in arms came to this planet to heal and forget what they'd been through, but now they're starting to think of making more of a life for themselves.
The lady Artek has his eye on is Nelly. She's human, a little closed off thanks to a bad experience in her past, and Artek is drawn to her. Big time. So when the idea of taking a wife comes up, she's the only one he considers.
Fortunately for him, Nelly isn't as close-minded as some of the others in town. She likes the big, blue alien and accepts his proposal pretty readily when he asks. The downside? The house the men have been living in is a little run down and those men are...not all that great with household chores. Like cooking. And cleaning. They have the handyman and construction side of things down pat, but they've been living rough for a while and it takes Nelly prodding them along to whip the house and grounds into something fit for them to be proud of.
A little misunderstanding or two, a former commander who has a hard time letting people in, a sassy woman who woos the men with her cooking, and a group of soldiers who are ready to start fresh. I'm ready for Benjar! Bring him on!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nelly and Artek
The Kemberian Artek and his brothers have a big farm on a farm planet. Since he first saw her, he fell in love with Nelly, who is viewed as a sphincter by the other town inhabitants. So Nelly agrees on Artek's proposal and they marry each other before they leave for his farm in the mountains. The question is if the marriage of convenience will work out.
I loved to read the book. Nelly and Artek are such friendly and caring characters though they are both very determined. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next installment in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Feel-good story
I was in search of a fun, feel good story and not overly complicated.
This book has everything. Of course it’s not Shakespeare or whatever but it’s nonetheless a good read and I’ve enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Honey has done it again!
With a true sense of the original movie, Honey has retold this story with a twist. Loved the interplay between the characters. Artek is like the 'dad' to all of the boys and takes his responsibility to them seriously. Can't wait to read the next in the series and see what they all get up to.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a start!!!!
I am liking this new series. It reminds me of the movie with the same name, Seven brides for seven brothers, though with an alien flavour. But i am not complaining. Keep it coming, Ms. Phillips 😊

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorably Funny & Sweet
A fantastic introduction to this adorably funny series of alien romance. With a full cast of loveable characters and a richly unique world, this book takes readers on a character-driven adventure full of mutual longing, found family, and a desperate desire to find love.
With each book focusing on one couple’s journey, these books can be read as standalones, but with their short length and fast pace, reading more than one is practically a given.
