4.7 out of 5 stars 14 ratings

A year has passed since Jule unlocked her genetic ability as a werewolf, mastering her changes and testing her might. A year since the betrayal which drove her to kill in order to save her love.

William takes Jule to the remote forests of the Great Smoky Mountains with the promise of meeting others of their kind, and she is more than eager to go. Upon her arrival, The Clan gives her the invitation to stay and live among them. If she accepts, she must make the ultimate sacrifice. Will Jule abandon her love for William and take on a new mate, or will she turn her back on the Clan and their laws?

Esadora's ability to immerse her spirit into another's body doesn't come without consequence. Driven to the verge of madness by voices in her head, she feels that she is losing herself.

She soon discovers that she can take control of her host, and recklessly practices on the dragon, Azul. Powerless against a dragon and fearing his revenge, Esadora weighs her options in a race against time. Can her friends, Rayme and Loki, help her in time, or will one of them become her next target?

I loved this sequel to More Than Human. The truth is, you really don’t have to read book one to enjoy this story, as it is pretty much a tale of its own. More Than Human was a great book. More Than Wolf is even better. The descriptions of the werewolf transformations and each scene are so vivid. It’s like watching it on a TV.

This book is a great love story/horror/drama, with struggles of the mind and heart, an epic battle, and a ton of twists and turns with an ending that will shock you to your core. I loved every page. There is so much I never saw coming. This series has become my favorite of all werewolf books. Imagine Teen Wolf meets Vampire Diaries with a hint of Game of Thrones. It would make a great show on the WB. Five Stars! I highly recommend this book… this series.

This book was sent to me by the author for an honest review.

Book Synopsis - A year after Jule discovered her ability to shift into wolf form and the betrayal of her friend group, William decides to take Jule to meet his clan in the Great Smokey Mountains. When they arrive, she learns of their traditional customs of mate-matching and is faced with the decision of choosing her match or her first love. Esadora is also living with the consequences of the events a year ago and is learning to cope with her ability. With little known about her abilities, will her friends be able to help her live a normal life before tragedy happens?

There are a few trigger warnings given at the beginning of the book. They are described as:

    • Descriptions of alcohol and drug use

    • graphic violence

    • depression

    • toxic masculinity

While this novel could easily be read as a stand alone, it was a great follow up to the first book! The story was split into two different perspectives, Jule and Esadora, and at first was hard to get into but as the story progresses it gets more intriguing its hard to put down!

The love triangle that happens is a very interesting dynamic and the decisions made by Jule and William seem very real and understandable which makes me like them even more! It was really great to explore both of them even further to truly understand their feelings and decision making.

Esadora's story was a little bit harder for me to get into since her perspective is new in this book but I thought her internal struggle was really well written and did a great job at portraying her desparation for control and sleep. Her decisions in the end seemed very on par with how far she was spiraling and even though I don't think they were right or justified, I think it was in character for what happened!

Although some of the dialogue is a bit clunky in this one as well, the characters are very relatable and the descriptions of the landscapes are written in a way that really paints a picture in your mind for what exactly they're all seeing/feeling.

Overall, I'd give this one a 4.5 out of 5 stars! I really don't see any negatives about this book other than it was a slow start! After getting into it, it was a quick and easy read which I always love!

I absolutely loved the first book "More Than Human" so I couldn't wait for this one to come out. I'm blown away at how much more I was drawn into this one, which I didn't think was possible. Ashbury brings multitudes of mythical creatures and magical abilities in a way that works seamlessly together. She delves into the background and culture, fleshing out each character in ways that force the reader to form attachments and feel the characters on a personal level. When you read the POV of the characters, you become them. I seriously cannot wait for the next book.

I really enjoyed this sequel to an amazing first book. It was so good I managed to read it all on my kindle app. I could visualize the setting which is a sign of a great story for me. The dialogue was amazing and had a certain edginess that made you feel just what was going on. I'm very much looking forward to book 3 for sure!

In this installment of the story, we got an inside look to the lycan clan and their way of lives. Jule learns more about her heritage and her ancestor. Esadora and Rayme I was hoping would go further, but....
I'm looking forward to the next book of the series!

This book hit very close to home for me. Ashbury's portrayal of Esadora and her depression are so incredibly on point and well represented, it gave me chills.

The story itself is a fun read. I love how she makes each of her books able to be standalones but still manages to tie them together. The characters are very realistic, even though they are mythological characters. She has great character development. The worldbuilding is also outstanding and I can tell this author has done her research. Can't wait for the next one!
