Wicked Game by Suzanne Jenkins is book 6 in the Greektown Stories series. Working girl Laura Jerzewski has fallen hard for Chris Hemmingway, a vice cop. But Chris has another obsession, an old house he's trying to renovate. Chris and Laura met while she was trying to keep her visitation rights with her son and fell in love almost straight away. Chris wants to protect her, but something - or someone - is standing in their way. Randall White is Laura's pimp, and he doesn't want her to give up her job. Even worse, he has certain law enforcement officials in his pocket. Can Laura escape her past life? Will she and Chris make a go of things? Or is Randall White too strong for both of them?

Although Wicked Game by Suzanne Jenkins is the sixth in this series and I haven't read any of the others, I felt comfortable reading this as a standalone book. That said, it's still best to read the books in order. This is for adults only, given the graphic murder descriptions and the sexual scenes. It is a thoroughly enjoyable story, a little different from the usual police procedurals. This is a story of people who overcome all the odds to achieve their aims, and it's also a heart-thumping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through. The characters are people you can easily get involved with in an emotional sense, particularly the two main ones. They are incredibly likable characters with a depth I haven't seen in many books recently. I guarantee this book will keep you on your toes with your heart in your mouth at times. The subject is not one you see written about too often, but this topic has been handled well, creating a story that all fans of thrillers and police procedurals absolutely must read.

    Every time I read Suzanne Jenkins books, I get a full, well-written, great characters and a storyline that is engrossing, This is the story of prostitute, Laura and the cop Chris. One look at the beauty standing on the corner waiting for a (date) to come. Instead the cop is enamored. Love at first sight, but there are problems they will have to overcome. A lovely story!

    This was the best book I have read in a very long time. I am sorry that I finished it so quickly.
    The characters were well developed and the storyline was very real. It captured a picture of trafficking that is hard to look at, but becoming more prevalent every day,, with real Randall Whites. Thank you.

    I loved this book! I finished it a couple of days ago, but it is still with me.

    There is a lot of police procedural action going on in the story and I got emotionally involved with two of the main characters, Chris and Laura. There are parts where my heart was in my throat but that just proves how real these characters were to me. I don’t think you will be disappointed taking the ride along with this story. It will keep you on your toes. ❤️❤️

    Suzanne Jenkins does it again. Another book you just can’t put down until it ends. A but different subject matter but it was done very tastefully and really kept me reading. Amazing author!!

Laura’s pimp Randall White is heavily protected by elements of local law enforcement and doesn’t want to let her retire from the “wicked game.” I strongly recommend this novel! You will not be disappointed…

    Another super book by Suzanne Jenkins! It is a book that will keep you turning the pages! I suppose it could be very educational also due to the relationship between the pimp, Laura and the detective. It's sad also that such relationships exist. Whatever your feeling is, this book is a must read!

    A nurse decides to sell her body for sex to make extra money. A cop falls for her immediately, but doesn't seem all that bothered by her choice to do so. I'm repulsed by both of these people. If she had been forced into this existence I could have understood, but, she was just mercenary about it. The cop acted like her choices were no big deal. I couldn't respect either of these people. I quit reading about 3/4 of the way through, as I had NO desire to find what happened with thes two people. I just wish I hadn't even started this book. I normally like this author,but, this a hard pass.
