About the author

Betty Adams lives in a particularly damp and remote corner of the Pacific Northwest and like a hobbit enjoys visitors so long as she knows them in advance and knows when they are coming. She was born sometime last century and will likely die sometime this century. She works winters on a small organic research farm when not writing and spends most of her time herding eccentric genius scientists (she is absolutely certain cats would be easier) with the help of her Great Pyrenees mix. Summers she spends nomadically wandering the Pacific Northwest in search of material for her stories and a regular paycheck for a biology major (she is reasonably certain those are on the Endangered Species List). She has several works published in the National Park Internal Database which may or may not be classified documents.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2021The author excels at writing about the little idiosyncrasies of human existance, but from the perspective of an outsider. The stories tell amusing excerpts of aliens as they deal with everyday human behavior. The result is a fun and insightful commentary on the human condition. If you want a short, fun read i highly recommend it.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2022I will say that the formatting is a bit strange for a published book, but that’s quickly easily to ignore with how fun this is! A great read, and would definitely be guaranteed to brighten anyone’s day.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2022These books are perfect for when you don't have time or the attention span to read for hours, but just want to get away for a little while. Each story is stand alone, but as you read, they build a fantastic world and characters. I recommend starting with the Human Are Weird: I Have the Data. They are light-hearted yet point out some very peculiar behaviors humans have that seem very mundane to us, until you really examine them from a different perspective!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2023We see ourselves most clearly when we see ourselves reflected in other eyes, even if those eyes are fictional. Betty Adams captures some oddities of human behavior, both general and individual in this series of vignettes, in an entertaining and often humorous way.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2022I like the light-heartedness the humans bring. I like the respect and concern the other sentient species offer. I loved reading it. It now becomes something I can pick up or start whenever or wherever I choose to revisit. I'm going to buy the first book as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars .
Great stories, with them being short enough to read several sharp insights into humanity and their alien coworkers.
I fully recommend this book and the rest of the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps you smiling
This book is a collection of short stories. VERY short stories, practically vignettes.
But each one is a microcosm, a quick exploration of humanity, looking at some of our more bizarre behaviours, which we don't really consider bizarre ourselves- but maybe we should!
