The Warrior in the Shadows (The Girl with the Gray Eyes Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 300 ratings

*Part two of The Girl with the Gray Eyes trilogy. Slow burn with a Cliffhanger ending.

An omega living in a beta world, fate sent me to a land where all the alphas live.

I want Garren, the playful alpha and brave warrior who effortlessly rocks my world.

I also want Tanis, the serious alpha who kisses me and claims me with words, only to send me back to Garren.

But Shadowland isn’t my home. One day, I must leave this place and the men who live here behind.

When fate rips me away, will a beta male ever be enough?

Then Marcus returns and throws everything into a spin.

I don’t trust him, and I’m not the only one.

As it turns out, I was wrong about the beta.

And right about Marcus.

Returning to Rymor isn’t a choice anymore.

We’re all trapped out here, and someone wants us dead.

Content advisory for trilogy: Extremely dark, graphic content, mind-games and manipulation, SA, violence, and gore. Heroes in this book range from sweet to pitch black.

Dystopia romance with lots of political intrigue. Good writing and character building. Fun read would recommend it to other readers

This story picks up where the first in the series ended. Hannah has turned the power back on to the wall and she has no idea what is going to happen next. Throughout the book Bill and Tanis plan a war. Bill continues to manipulate all of those around him and Tanis tries to figure out what is best for everyone.
This story is written from multiple POV, there are a lot of characters in the story and almost everyone has their own chapter at some point. L.V. is a great world builder and manages to keep each person's perspective straight. I have a hard time keeping up with who some of the minor charters are and their roles but I'm sucked into the idea of what is going to happen next. This story again ends on a cliffhanger. If you have not read the first book in the series, you need to start there.

LV Lane has done a masterful job of revealing what makes people develop into the psychopathic and narcissitic characters that destroy those around them, and go on to destroy the world they inhabit. All done in a thriller that full of hot romance. I can't wait to read on!

This one is amazing and I absorbed it like a giddy sponge (can one be giddy and a sponge, lol). L.V. Lane has had my undivided attention since I came across Prey. Her writing is spectacular and I am always ready for whatever adventure the author will take me on in her books. Can't wait for part 3 though I am not sure my heart can wait 2 months. Lol

This second installment of The Girl With the Grey Eyes will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author does a fantastic job of sucking us into the conflicts happening between Rymor and Shadowland. This backdrop let's us follow so many characters, tough alphas, an omega on a journey of discovery, a caring beta, the Jaru warriors, and of course the evil Bill. Ms. Lane never fails to give us great world building, steamy alpha/omega scenes, twists and turns, and a few surprises. I look forward to the final book in the series which I hope will provide a HEA.

So much turmoil and uncertainty. This is like a rollercoaster with its ups and downs, twisting and turning. But so exciting that I can’t turn the pages fast enough. Loved it!

This book reads more like an l.v. Lane book. More spice to it.
Im not a huge fan of in between worlds books. I find the pieces while in Rymor to be boring, but that’s just me.
Great characters in shadowland. I love the trust within Tanis group, even Garren.

All the characters are perfectly fleshed out. Tanis is brutal but fair, Garren is learning so control. I love how Nate has evolved almost from a little child to a grown man. I love all the intrigues. I love it all

What a WILD RIDE! This is the stunning continuation of Hannah's foray into the Shadowlands. As with the first book, we get multiple POVs from a number of different characters, some good, some bad, and some neutral. Although how long these characters will stay neutral in this tumultous world, is anyone's guess.
Hannah gets to know herself a little better in this book, and what it means to be an omega in this harsh world. She gets tougher and stronger with every trial, and I can't wait to see where she ends up.
New relationships develop on a number of fronts, old ones are tested and danger grows near for every single person in this book.
L.V Lane taks you on a wild journey filled with deceit and corruption, lies and truths, and SCORCHING passions.
I can't freaking WAIT for the next book.

I love LV Lane’s dark stories. I also like the way she writes—no mincing of words or crapping on about the minutiae of every day life, her books are high paced and so hard to put down. Not for the faint hearted though, there’s nothing soft and romantic about this book despite the smut!

    L. V. Lane is an absolutely wonderful storyteller, so intricately woven, relatable characters, and a fascinating story, with more twists and turns than a mountain road! And then there are the surprises, especially at the end. I didn't see that one coming! Can't wait to read the last book in this trilogy, which is where I'm going now.

So this is yet another really good book. The story is gripping and compelling. My only complaint is the loss of sleep from not being able to put it down.
