He Thought I Was His Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 38 ratings

"He Thought I was His" is a heart-pounding narrative with dual POV chapters including spine-tingling insights into the stalker's mind.

Is there anything more chilling than the feeling of being watched, your every move monitored by an unknown presence?

Brynn's world quickly turns into a living nightmare once she realizes she's being stalked, but the true terror lies in not knowing the identity of who it is.

With the police refusing to assist Brynn without a suspect's name, she's left to fend for herself. It's a race against time and a struggle for survival. But even changing door locks and setting up security cameras can't keep her pursuer away.

Will Brynn figure out who is stalking her? And can she outwit him before it's too late?

For readers who devoured "YOU" by Caroline Kepnes or found themselves captivated by Netflix's "Secret Obsession," this is a psychological thriller that will leave you questioning the boundaries of obsession, the people around you, and what it takes to survive a situation unimaginable.

Interesting and intriguing. Likeable, well-developed characters. Very enjoyable. I look forward to more from this author.

The concept of this book intrigued me to pick it up. I’d seen it mentioned on TikTok and decided to give it a try. I liked the dual point of views from the stalker and the main character. Brynn was a strong woman and I liked she wasn’t a damsel. She was able to take care of herself and didn’t rely on being saved.

Definitely good writing. Intense story. Kept me going and didn’t stop until it was finished. Definitely sad, intense and happy moments. Lots of guessing!!

    HE THOUGHT I WAS HIS
    By Sara Kate
Except for the subject matter, which for me, as a father, who already worries enough about his three daughters, is troublesome, the book was an easy read. It can be finished it in a single day.
Fast paced, from beginning to end there is always something happening. You are drawn in and become invested in the main character’s life.
A young woman, Brynn, is dealing with a stalker… not just any stalker, but one totally obsessed. The story follows her daily routine, relationships, work and financial difficulties common to our time. Things seem to just get harder and harder… did I mention she is dealing with a stalker?
It provides just enough background of each character to understand their actions and motivations. The story is told in real time from both the perspective of Brynn, as she try’s to figure out who is stalking her, invading her privacy, and from the viewpoint of the stalker as they do “creepy stalker things.

Writing in first person, present tense was a bold decision by the author. It is something that is not easy to do. And, this was well done.
I would describe Sarah Kates writing style as minimalist. It is crisp and clean, and very natural, telling a story that is not only disturbingly possible, but a story similar to what some people have actually experienced.

Love the way everything came together. The visual image when you read come to life in your mind. You can feel the anger and excitement when she fought her stalker.

Well written I found it very exciting I couldn't put the book down I was really into it.

I have to say — this book did not disappoint!!

This is a dual POV, cat & mouse, thrill ride that kept me engaged the whole way through. With hints of “YOU” and “Enough” with bits and pieces from what you can assume is the author’s personal life thrown in to make it relatable.

I had just come off of a high, finishing the UNSUB series and was looking for a new story to get lost in. THIS was it! The story is solid, the characters are relatable, the way the author describes her characters’ lives day in and out are relatable to more people than not.

Admittedly, it did take me a few chapters to really get into it, having just finished a great book series as well as the show “YOU,” however once I got to a certain chapter I was hooked — I was caught — I was IN IT.

The way the author goes from one person’s perspective to another’s, telling the same story, but from different POVs was seamless. I have read a few books now with dual POVs, and have to say that not everyone who tries to do it is so creative and have it flow so well. Sara Kate is not one of those authors, she did it, and she really did it well.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fast paced thriller with “there’s someone watching me” tones

I first discovered this author on tiktok and read her book "Everything Led Me To You" it was a thrilling read and this one definitely delivered. I was not disappointed at all. It kept me engaged and wanting to read more. It was so hard to put down.

I loved the short chapters I feel like I read it faster that way and got more into the story itself. It was full of nail biting suspense that had me on the edge.

The characters were enjoyable and I couldn't guess who the suspect was no matter how many times I thought it through. I couldn't have been more wrong.
I highly recommend you to read this book.
