Chase

I’ve only been at the bike shop for an hour when I get one of the worse calls of my life. My dad suffered a heart attack and has been taken to the local hospital. I instantly shut everything down, make a few phone calls, then head to be at his bed side. After three hours, and not enough information, the Doctor comes out as I put down my phone and look towards the doctor standing in front of me. Only one thought comes to mind… Angel.

Ever since I was a kid, people would make fun of my last name. Kids can be cruel. I thought that once I started medical school, it would stop. Boy was I wrong. My name is Dr. Tess Sweet, Cardiac Surgeon, by the way. Get it? I’ve learned over time to build a thick skin, and not to care what people think, especially the males of our species. That is, until, one day while on duty and about to speak with my patient’s son, all I see is this bearded God, and I start to dissolve.

Will Dr. Sweet, heart surgeon be able to stick to the bearded God, or will it flatline?

    This is a sweet story and perfect for Valentines. Chase receives news that his father is in the hospital, waiting on information, the doctor walks out and it is instant connection. Tess adds points when she takes her bike to his shop. Throw in an ex that leave rocks to boat and this is great entertaining story.

His dad has a heart attack and she's his Dr. She takes her bike to the shop and he falls more for her and the attraction is strong. His ex showed up at the hospital and made a pass at him and she saw it. She's back in the Charity auction for the hospital and he shows up and makes the highest bid. He explains about the ex and all is good.

    I was pretty excited to read this since I love mechanics and men that work with their hands, but I DNF'd at 40%.

    While the storyline itself is great, there's really no insight to the characters, and it seems like the author just kept randomly dropping in information as if they were forgetting it while they were writing.

    The book is just "I did this. I did that. Add in some dialog. I did that."

    That's basically what it was.

    While I understand that this is a short book, I still like to get to know the characters, and this book was basically like reading about robots.
