Two Believe: A Silas McKay Suspense (Silas McKay Suspense Series Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 798 ratings

It was no ordinary robbery. The suspect is no ordinary thief. The investigator is no ordinary detective.
He’s Silas McKay, head of operations for Discreet Corporate Security Systems in Dallas, Texas.

Silas doesn’t usually investigate stolen merchandise, but when his boss asks him to look into a jewelry heist at Gadise Diamonds, a high-end store in the Dallas area, he makes an exception.

When Silas learns this was no ordinary robbery, and the suspect is no ordinary thief, he enlists the help of Ashley Davenport, who’s no ordinary woman.

It was no ordinary robbery . . .
It happened in broad daylight, no weapons were involved, and there were plenty of security cameras present.

The suspect is no ordinary thief . . .
He’s Todd Harriman, a billionaire’s son, who could afford to buy the entire jewelry store, so why would he devise an elaborate plan to steal merchandise from it?

Ashley is no ordinary woman . . .
She’s a wealthy socialite, about to start her own detective agency, and the last person Silas needs in his life right now, especially since he’s still angry at God for the loss of his wife, and Ashley doesn’t believe in God.

As Silas and Ashley work together to confront the guilty party, Silas must confront his feelings about Ashley as well as his anger toward God. Can Silas believe God wants the best for him? Can Ashley find the faith to believe? Can two believe?

Two Believe is an inspiring suspenseful read from USA Today bestselling author, Luana Ehrlich, and Book II in the Silas McKay Suspense Series, a character-driven, emotion-packed series featuring Silas McKay, a corporate security investigator who’s not afraid to take risks, but who’s a little skittish about making changes.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Welcome to a fascinating and intelligent new series from a well-loved, creative author. You will instantly be intrigued by Silas McKay, his co-workers, boss and their unique cases. I highly recommend . . ." An Amazon Reviewer.

"Luana writes with detail, intelligence and makes the reader feel like they are in the scene. Her faith shines through in each story. Her characters, however, are just as flawed as we are, struggling with real life and what that looks like in the context of their beliefs of who Jesus Christ is." --An Amazon Reviewer.

A $65000 signet rings disappears and the suspect is the son of a billionaire. The owner is discreetly opening an investigation because his landlord is the father of the thief.
Ashley and Silas are on the team searching for the ring. They finally solve the case after rehashing the theft.
Book keeps your attention and moves quickly.

I typically like all of Luanna’s books. But I really don’t like the love-interest of Silas in this series. I so much don’t like her that I didn’t really enjoy this book and won’t read the rest in this series. I’ll go back to the Titus Ray books. Sorry!

This is the second book in the series and you have to read them in order! Silas finishes off one case and immediately moves on to another. It’s a very detailed book that makes you feel like you’re a detective. I like that there are multiple people involved, so he’s not doing everything himself! There’s a hint of romance, but just a hint.

While this was a quick read and was rather superficial, especially regarding the six months dead wife, the actual story was quite good. The characters entertaining in their own right and the plot was well crafted and different from other stories I’ve read. I liked that it was clean in all aspects, had good humour and there was no cliff hanger.
I should also say that there is talk of religious living and finding faith at the very end of the book.
