    WARNING! Do not start this book if you do not have time to read, because you will want to grab a blanket and sit in your comfy chair and read it in its entirety. Yes, it is that good! 

    Casey lives a solitary life. She lives alone, works from home and has no family or friends that she is connected to. She has been left by everyone that ever meant anything to her and she feels like she is destined to always be alone. She doesn't get close to anyone anymore, close to anyone except the chipmunk that she feeds daily in her yard. She starts to stalk a man at the park, not expecting anything to come of it.

    Dave knows that Casey is stalking him, and he is intrigued about her.  Who is she and where did she come from?  He starts to do his own stalking and wants to learn more about her. When they finally meet, there is an instant attraction, but Casey has her walls up.  Will Dave be able to crumble those walls and will Casey let him in?  

    I could not put this book down until I knew the answer to those questions.  There was not one page in this book that I wanted to skim. Wendy Zuccarello does a wonderful job of making well developed characters and keeping the readers engaged in the story.

    I just want to start this review off and state that this is a standalone novel, but it kind of connects to Above and Beyond by Michelle Rider Author as you will see familiar faces from Above and Beyond, in Silent Hero!

    Casey Phillips is a woman that feels that if you are alone, no one can hurt you. She prefers to be alone for this exact reason. She's 25 years old and has had so many people coming in and out of her life that she's content being on her own. The only thing she thinks she needs is the chipmunk that she's befriended in her yard. What she won't tell anyone though, is she's developed a secret crush on someone she met at the park. Dave is the man that Casey is crushing on, and he knows that she's watching him, and frankly, he's ok with it, and it leads to him wanting to get to know her better. He soon takes a page out of Casey's book and it ends up backfiring big time! When Casey and Dave finally meet face to face, the attraction is immediate, but because of Casey's abandonment issues, she pushes him away. Will Dave be able to show Casey that he won't be like the others and won't abandon her, or will she push Dave away to the point of no return? This book was excellent. I also deal with abandonment issues. I saw a lot of myself in Casey. It took my husband to show me that not everyone is going to leave you behind. I honestly cried a lot while reading this just because it hit so close to home. That's how you know you have a great book in your hand!
