Tired of Death: Dungeon! Kindle Edition

3.0 out of 5 stars 2 ratings

Dreth - Undead Way guardian (Advanced level) is bored. So, instead of brutally maiming and killing adventurers, he and his zombie sidekicks, set out to explore the dungeon, much to the annoyance of the dungeon Management. On his journey he finds out there may be more to his unlife than he remembers!

Tired of Death is a fantasy tale with added humour, and a splash of horror.

Top reviews from the United States

This story was okay. It is comedy, so I gave a pass for all the plot armor. Though, undead characters can survive a lot. I didn't know it was the start of a series until I got to the end. A shame because many new questions need resolution. I'm not curious enough to get those answers, but I feel those who like an absurd humor will be pleased. The rest of my review will have spoilers.

    The Good.
The zombies constantly looking body parts and talking about what was tasty and what wasn't. The gold tooth and elf tongue were prize loot.

Redthorne, the wizard, being the sole survivor of the hero party. I always play the mage, so felt vindicated he performed so well.

Sprat, the zombie kid, was my favorite character. I like the idea of the innocent undead.

Several funny lines like "Who wouldn't want a lovely leg bone?" .

The golem stalking Dreth and his encounters with past monsters.

The battles were decent and constant.

The anti-magic spite was a cool idea and we'll used.

Dreth's drunk talk with Darkblood was funniest part.

    The Bad.
Redthorne and Dreth team up was too contrived. They easily accepted each other with barely any bickering. Death argued more with Cuthbert and Percy.

The front chapters were very long, making it hard to pause reading. Even with scene shifts.

There was a commercial in the book saying it was free and buying it on Amazon was being cheated. I bought it on Amazon. Why insult a customer, taking him out of the story to do it?

The baby being in the dungeon (not immediately killed) was weak hand waving plot armor I won't overlook. It needed better explanation.

Lava inside an underground dungeon would be called magma.

    The Technical.
    Macabre humor throughout.

Words are bolded instead of italics for emphasis.

Many PIC characters. Too many to keep track of.
