About the author

I was born and raised in a faraway land, somewhere in Europe. I wrote my first short story at ten. A terrible nightmare with spider-like creatures inspired me to put my dream to paper. The following day, I read the story to my class and got a positive response (I believe there was clapping). I think adding a joke or two helped.
I didn’t really think at that time that I would be a writer. Frankly, I wasn’t thinking much at that age. . . . not to mention, I really didn’t like to read. I’ll never forget the moment when it all changed. At thirteen, I picked up the book my dad had been trying to convince me to read for years and decided to give it a chance. I read it standing by the bookcase (it was a small book, no more than 200 pages). From that point forward, my passion for books and reading continued to grow. I began to identify my favorite authors and genres. As I write this, I’m wondering what my dad would say. I’m sure it would be, “I told you so.” God bless his soul.
In 2012, a European road trip changed my life forever. It was an amazing experience filled with fun, laughter, and some adventures (namely, driving on a highway without a speed limit). During that trip, I had an idea for a story. You can call it my lightbulb moment. Although English was not my first language, I knew in my gut that I was a writer and would not let anything stand in the way of creating my first book. Other than actually writing it that is. After many exhausting conversations with my very patient husband, he finally said to me, “Stop talking about it and start writing.”
I would never admit it to him, but he was right. I sat down and began writing. Did nothing but write for a month straight until I had 150 pages. My husband read it quite valiantly. After my first attempt at a book, I realized that I needed more guidance to develop my craft. So I attended my first workshop at San Diego Writers Ink. During that workshop, an opportunity was presented – there were two spots open in a Read & Critique group. Without hesitation, I jumped at the chance to join.
The next three years were spent learning my craft via books, conferences and R & C. I must have written five drafts of the story, until the last draft was the one. Another three years involved editors and other publishing consultants reviewing the final version.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2023In S.G. Blaise's "The Last Lumenian," the convergence of science fiction, fantasy, and action adventure genres transports readers into an immersive world where the remarkable tale of Princess Lilla unfolds. As a fearless rebel, Lilla valiantly fights for the liberation of oppressed refugees, all while grappling with the emotional detachment of her king father following her mother's demise. The entrance of Callum, a formidable Teryn general, injects a tumultuous wave of emotions into Lilla's life, leading to conflicts and tensions with Arrov, an attractive pilot and fellow rebel.
Lilla's envisioned life takes an unforeseen turn, straying far from her expectations. The intrusion of divine intervention, intricate romantic entanglements, and the sudden emergence of magical abilities disrupt the fabric of Lilla's existence, compelling her to confront and embrace these unconventional elements. Despite her attempts to resist their influence, these forces relentlessly seek to exert control over her, each with their own distinct intentions.
The ongoing Era War, a fierce struggle between ruling archgods, propels Lilla into decisive action. To fulfill her extraordinary destiny of vanquishing the Archgod of Chaos and Destruction before his imminent discovery, she must wholeheartedly embrace her true self, magic and all, while also embarking on a quest for genuine love. Lilla stands as the last hope for the realm of Lumenia.
Blending science fiction, fantasy, and action with finesse, S.G. Blaise crafts a captivating narrative within "The Last Lumenian." This extraordinary work plunges readers into a world brimming with defiance and fate, where the tenacious journey of Princess Lilla unfolds. Blaise's skillful storytelling and multifaceted characters immerse readers in a riveting narrative that navigates the depths of Lilla's inner conflicts and the challenges of her external environment.
"The Last Lumenian" offers an enthralling and pulse-pounding odyssey that captivates readers from the very first page to the final climactic moments. Blaise's mastery of storytelling leaves audiences eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this remarkable series as they become invested in the richly depicted world and the fate of its compelling characters. Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2020Sci-Fi is a genre that I don't read much. The space aspect is one that I am always apprehensive about but I was pleasantly surprised with The Last Lumenian. This follows the story of a girl named Lilla fighting the battle of oppression of refugees. Lilla is an advocate for justice and with this starts a rebellion for a better world. The elements in the book made this read like a sci-fi-fantasy novel, which made me want to learn even more. I struggled a bit in the beginning with the terminology but the glossary was so helpful! I wish all authors would do that!
One of the aspects I loved about Lilla's character was that she suffered from a mental illness, these days its crucial to have inclusivity. I'm so happy this book focused a lot on the anxiety and how she overcame them even thru the adversities thrown her way. Lilla's brave stance was admirable, such a great example for young readers. The romance aspect was pretty great, I am a fan of tension love, this is exactly was was going on between Arrov and Lilla. I was a little bit hesitant about the instalove since it's one of my least favorite tropes but in this case it was well written!
The details in the story were gripping, I enjoyed the diversity of the characters and the intricate world building! We had a whole assortment of them but they fit well into the story. The pace and the banter kept me going! I am all about the sarcasm, the dynamic between the characters flowed perfectly with this element!
Thank you so much to the author for sending this my way! Can't wait to read more!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2024"The Last Lumenian" captivated me from start to finish. It's a delightful blend of fantasy, Sci-fi, and just a touch of romance. The narrative revolves around Lilla, the royal princess of Uhna, as she navigates the complexities of her dual identity: a royal figure and an active member of the rebellion.
Throughout the story, Lilla faces a myriad of challenges, from perilous missions to espionage, all while maintaining her friendships with Arrov and Glenna. Adding to her plate is the presence of her father's new bride, once a close friend but now a source of tension. However, Lilla's ultimate struggle lies in discovering her true self and harnessing the latent power within her.
Lilla emerges as a lovable protagonist, her charisma attracting the attention of numerous suitors. While I initially leaned towards Arrov as a romantic interest, their bond as best friends shines through, with Arrov playing a pivotal role in guiding Lilla towards self-discovery and unlocking her full potential.
The narrative escalates into a climactic battle between the forces of light and darkness, with Lilla at the center, holding the key to Uhna's restoration of peace and illumination. The ending left me utterly satisfied, eagerly anticipating further adventures with Callum and Lilla.
Overall, "The Last Lumenian" is a must-read for fans of strong female leads in fantasy novels, offering a captivating blend of mystery, intrigue, and a hint of romance. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an immersive and engaging literary experience.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Sci-Fi Adventure that got it all: worldbuilding, enemies-to-lovers romance, gods, intrigues & MORE
While I have come across many amazing sci-fi stories in my life, I’m always hesitant to pick one up as my true love belongs to the worlds of fantasy literature. But what if a book combines elements of science fiction with those of fantasy, AND adds an amazing enemies-to-lovers romance to it? I’m sold. And that’s what THE LAST LUMENIAN just did!
The story kicks off right away, filling the pages with action, and introducing the readers into a world that is filled with politics, rebels, gods, secrets, and magic. In the middle of it, we find Lilla – a sassy, adventurous, strong and determined protagonist who tries to unveil the secrets, and fight for the good. What starts out as a need to rebel against her father, and help oppressed refugees, quickly becomes more complicated when Lilla discovers her magic – and the potential war that is quickly nearing her home world.
While I enjoyed the fast pace of this story, I do have to admit it took me some time to get acquainted with this complex worldbuilding as the Seven Galaxies are not something you can immediately explore and understand. This was where the glossary was very helpful and handy for me to find the orientation I needed in the beginning. (Honestly, glossarys are a thing that should be included everywhere! I loved that S.G. Blaise did it!) As the story progressed, I found myself eager to find out more of the gods, the Lumenians, and the role Lilla must play in order to save her home world. (If you know me, you know I'm a sucker if it comes to anything related to the power of gods and this one just fit perfectly the worldbuilding of the story!)
As much as I enjoyed the lush worldbuilding, and the quick pace of this story, my favorite aspect was … you might have guessed it … the romance! I’m weak if it comes to the hate-to-love trope, and although I thought I was first rooting for the very handsome pilot at Lilla’s side, I couldn’t help myself but falling for the imposing and sassy General. Reading the banter between these two made me grin like an idiot more times than I want to admit. (Though, the little masochist I am, I would have loved to be tortured more if the romance has progressed a little bit slower!)
If you’re looking for a sci-fi book combined with elements of fantasy, a sassy romance, epic magic and gods, and a strong protagonist, I can recommend you to pick up THE LAST LUMENIAN, and enjoy the ride!
Thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of the book!

🦋Summary - The Last Lumenian by S. G. Blaise is a story of a princess named Lilla. By nature, she is a rebel. And by heart, she is soft, kind. She is fighting for the refugees as she wants a better life for them. She wants to be like her mother. Though she is a princess her life is full of difficulty. Apart from the refugees, she is fighting for her freedom. She is searching for her destination, her strength, her capabilities.
There is a forthcoming destruction of war that threatens the existence of galaxies and the person who can save it is her. She has strong willpower and she is not ready to give up but only with willpower she can't do anything as she is a young girl. But she is determined to do it.
As the story goes you will feel cold shivers.
Here the question is will she be able to succeed in her life mission?
🦋Writing Skills - I liked the writing style as it's so engaging. Language is also easy and elegant. The narration is also clear.
🦋My Review - This was my first ever sci-fi book so I was so excited to read it. But I was afraid at the same time if it would leave me disappointed! But let me tell you I have finished it within two days. When you start reading you will get hooked to it. Just unputdownable. The story goes through loads of twists and turns. It's so fascinating. 5.0 out of 5 stars One of my best reads this year
o many tropes in this story I can't keep count, and with at least two genres that I count combined, this book would satisfy a lot of fantasy and sci-fi readers alike. The story begins with the useless princess trope and the enemies to lovers, when Lilla becomes embroiled in political machinations trying to help refugees, and gets partly caught being somewhere she shouldn't. Meanwhile in the background we have the balance of the universe being waged by several God's and this war spills over in Lillas world. In comes the magic and the abilities all alongside this idea of aliens and other worlds, other empires coming to wage war and overtake. The ideas within this story end up working really well with each other to the point I can't say any of it was uncomfortable reading.
Generally I really enjoyed this book and as a first novel the author has done really well. There were so many layers and subplots to this novel there is potential for so much more. I could quite easily compare this to some of the more famous authors I've read such as Sarah J Maas, but I really need to see how the story grows and expands. Is this a standalone novel? Or is there more for Lilla and Callum?
One thing I must say is I did enjoy the change in power between these two in the end. That was quite refreshing. The love triangle too was enjoyable to read and on a side note there were no explicit scenes so this is suitable for Young Adult readers. It's nice to read a book that has the reader digesting just the tensions alone between characters rather than graphic interactions. Overall one of my best reads this year.
Good luck to the author in her future writings.

4.0 out of 5 stars SciFi and Fantasy together in one novel
The very first thing I appreciated about this book is the perfect representation of a panic attack (also potentially triggering, so beware!) and a protagonist who has not one of them, but “episodes”. That felt realistic and relatable, since I also suffer from anxiety and panic attacks.
Our main character is Lilla, a nineteen years old noblewoman from planet Uhna of the Pax Sectum Coalition, where advanced technology mingles with elemental magic. In fact, I would say that the novel belongs to both the SciFi and Fantasy genres, as it has elements of both.
This is pretty much a superhero story, where Lilla is the last Lumenian, a woman whose heritage comes from the people of planet Lume, created by the Archgoddess of Eternal Light and Order to fight the Archgod of Chaos and Destruction. In fact, she’s called to fight the latter. The novel also has a Star Trek vibe, with many different aliens in the cast.
However, I found the main character not really that likeable for most of the book. She’s stubborn, starts fights when things don’t go the way she wants and always feels guilty even for things not her fault. Yet she’s funny when she looks at General Callum’s biceps despite disliking him (initially, at least). Anyway, toward the end of the novel, the character matures, so I forgave her.
Also, the romance with the Teryn general is cute, but honestly I would have loved to see Lilla with the A’ice prince Arrov. I also liked the family twist toward the end of the novel.
For “nays”: book-wise I found some typos, and story-wise I really detested the trope of twins finishing each other’s phrases. Also, I didn’t like that the author calls “human” these characters, who are Uhnans, aliens, non-humans although they have a human-like appearance.
All in all, it was an enjoyable read, and because of the fast-paced narration and crisp writing style, I couldn’t put down the book, a real page-turner.
★★★★ 4.5 stars for me.
