Undeniable Relations: A Novel (Families' Storytelling) Kindle Edition
Deidre Doherty is aware she has led a privileged life in the small town of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, while others have not been so lucky. Her burning desire to tackle the social justice issues of the day — systemic racism, sexism, and homophobia — propels her to try and reconcile the inequities she sees around her.
A personal loss, after her marriage to a young history teacher, profoundly affects them both. Deidre’s father encourages the couple to forget the tragedy and move on. Dean Doherty’s approach is reflective of his cynical nature as he has no time for anything that does not serve his own self-interest.
As Deidre discovers more and more about her parents’ early marriage, and the sources of the Doherty wealth, tension builds. When the secrets and lies are exposed, Dean Doherty will pay the price that the past demands.
Undeniable Relations is the third novel in Bruce W. Bishop’s Families’ Storytelling trilogy. Readers of the other two novels, Unconventional Daughters and Uncommon Sons, will be happy to see four beloved characters return. Join them and Deidre in a compelling tale of deception and intrigue.

About the author

I was born and raised in a small town in eastern Canada. From a young age, I dreamt of seeing the world, but as I'm more of an introvert than extrovert, I'm not sure how I somehow managed to carve out a freelance career as a travel journalist and guidebook author for over a decade. Novel writing was a novelty (pardon the pun!) that began in 2020 during the pandemic lockdown. I enjoyed the exercise so much that I wrote two follow-up books. The fictitious characters in my novels are ordinary and somewhat forgotten souls in history who are faced with extraordinary options and decisions to make. What happens when adults are not what and who they are expected to be?
'Unconventional Daughters' (2020) was followed by 'Uncommon Sons' (2021) and 'Undeniable Relations' (2022), and the three are interlinked. They are set in the early to mid-20th century in Nova Scotia, Canada. They can be read on their own, and not necessarily in any order.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2023Highly entertaining historical fiction. Touching on many racial challenges of the times, as well as women's evolution through history.
Truly enjoyed the adult life of Angus as a history professor and in eventually meeting Deidre. Particularly enjoyed how intertwined and alike Deidre's character was with Eva, and how well the 2 characters aligned.
Especially loved the surprise ending and would love it if Mr. Bishop would continue the story line in a fourth book. Excellent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic conclusion
Bruce does it again! As soon as Undeniable Relations the conclusion in the trilogy was released, I immediately downloaded it, as I've made no secret that I'm a massive fan of Bruce's writing.
I loved revisiting these characters, and this time, it's Angus in the limelight, as he is now a grown man! We get introduced to Deidre, who comes with her own baggage and family drama.
I loved them as a couple, I felt they complimented each other well, both having faults, but clearly have a lot of love for each other.
Not every character in this book is as lovely as those two, I'm looking at you, Dean! There are some right shady going on in this book, and it pretty much always leads to heartbreak! Throw in a murder or two, high emotions, and a lot of family drama. You have yourself a brilliant book.
I have adored this series, and I look forward to what comes next from Bruce!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bruce bishop series
I've read the series by this author. Amazing. The story line wants the reader to buy the next book. All three books were filled with nova scotia and maritime history. Well done Bruce I can't wait to read more of your artistry and talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a ride!
This third instalment of the stories told in ‘Unconventional Daughters’ and ‘Uncommon Sons’ seems to satisfactorily complete the saga. A thoroughly enjoyable and exciting conclusion,
it has to be said. Looking forward to more “can’t put it down” reading from Bruce.

5.0 out of 5 stars A birthday gift for my mom and she loved it and the other two as well.
This, and the other two books, was a birthday gift for my mom and she loved them. Growing up and living in Yarmouth County she was able to connect in a special way with so many things. I hope there are more written about our beautiful 'home'.
