"A heartfelt love story about home and family"
"Fell into it..."

When Shannon Keystone returned to her home town with her teenaged daughter, it was to bring some peace and normalcy back into their lives.

Tyler Rivers' life as a country music star had taken a toll on himself and his young son after a disaster of a marriage, so he wanted out of the limelight.

The last thing either of them expected was to ever see each other again until they came face to face at their hometown's fall festival. Could they resurrect what they lost all those years ago and finally find happiness in their lives?

Teresa Keefer was chosen by her adoptive parents in Warsaw, Indiana and has remained in Indiana all her life. She currently resides in rural Indiana with a menagerie of dogs, cats and goats after a family of greedy raccoons ate all her chickens on a hot Saturday night. She has three beautiful adult daughters and seven fantastic grandchildren who all live a hop, skip and a jump away from her.

Holding an MBA from Indiana Institute of Technology, she has spent the last 30 years in the human resources profession. In her spare time—what little there is—she can be found doing a variety of crafts, cooking, studying the paranormal, making organic remedies, and barefoot gardening. Her bucket list is quite extensive, and she is determined to mark off every item—as she adds two more for each one accomplished.

I read this book from start to finish in one sitting. The characters drew me in from the beginning. The author did a great job of making them come alive on the page. This book is a sweet and poignant romance about two childhood friends who went their separate ways as adults and, after failed relationships with other people, aren't quite sure if they're ready to reconnect. I felt their pain and their joy on each and every page.

If you are looking for a heartfelt story about returning to home and family, then this book is for you.

When I read a book, no matter what the genre, it is being in that place and feeling what the authors characters feel. That for me is what makes a really good book. No sometimes I get sleepy and sometimes, like with Yesterday’s Promises by Teresa Keefer, you find yourself engulfed so much. My hands could even feel the cold when I read from chapter eight; “She took her temper out on the bag of ice that she pulled out of the freezer by banging it against counter top several more times than necessary.” And to think I was reading this book for my mom.

This book was the second book I have read from this author and I have to say I enjoyed this book. From the moment I started to read it I was drawn into the lives of both characters. Ms. Keefer not only made them come to life but she made you feel the pain Shannon felt from what she believed was a betrayal by Ty and the disenchantment she felt for men in general after surviving a bad marriage to the father of her child. Ty has also come from a bad marriage and has returned home to raise his son in the small town environment he grew up with. From the moment the two meet you feel the attraction, the misunderstanding, the hesitancy and beneath it all the undercurrent of a love that never died. This is a book that will make you smile and will leave you in the end feeling happy. The only negative part I have to say is that it did end. Great book and would definitely recommend this to any reader who wants to experience the happy ever after feeling.

This story takes place in Kentucky that brings former childhood sweethearts back together after they have each had marriages that were not like they seemed. Each has made the choice to return with their respective children and reconnect and then work to make a family together. I loved this book as it was heartwarming and the characters were believable as was the setting! Great job Ms. Keefer and I look forward to reading more of your books!

The main characters were full of life and very believable. Old high school flames reuniting after many years. Both made relationship mistakes yet true love won out.

Tyler Rivers is a music star who has moved back to his rural hometown with his young son, for a simpler life. Shannon Keystone has returned to the same hometown, following the death of her husband, with her daughter. Shannon and Tyler had been best friends, and are drawn together when they meet again in their hometown.
I liked the idea for this story and felt that Shannon and Tyler and their children were well-drawn and likeable. I believed in their relationship and their compatibility.
For me, the story itself seemed a bit jumpy. There were great moments between the characters and the games Tyler and Shannon played with one another, but there were also slow moments with extended descriptions that didn't seem necessary and slowed the story down. So, at times, I found my interest waning. I did like the characters enough to want to finish the book and find out how they ended up.
The prologue sets a wonderful scene between Tyler and Shannon when they were kids and I wished for more of those sorts of scenes in the book, where I felt close to the characters and their situation.
