About the author

Ann Stang is the author of 11 Christian cozy mysteries and romcoms. Her motto is there’s a mystery around every corner – or there ought to be. She starts with a whodunnit, adds a little romance, sprinkles in clean humor, (and usually a dog), and voila! A novel that everyone can enjoy. Her three children's books add to the fun.
Married with five children and fifteen grandchildren, she hangs out with her dachshunds most of the day. They’re willing to listen if she reads snatches of her current work in progress and only give each other looks when she won’t notice.
Living in the Ozarks, she divides her time between her family and her hobbies, including her love of 40s and 50s noir and her severe coffee addiction. Also on SWG Goodreads.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2023I enjoyed reading this book. Really not much of a mystery but it was really great to read a book with a good clean message. No cursing or sex. I recommend very much.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2024The characters make this story! The historical ones with the crime and mystery to be solved. The current ones with friendship, deceit, danger, and adventures to live through. Their faith plays a part too. The story was finished way too soon.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 20231. Interesting premise and plotline.
2. I have no idea what any of the characters look like, except Ted, and even that's pretty vague.
3. An author shouldn't promise a book full of engaging flashbacks that will build up mystery...and then drop them except for a brief one toward the end of the book.
4. There is no sense of chemistry between Sarah and Ted.
5. There isn't any real basis in the mayor suddenly turning into a hardened criminal.
I know this is a work of fiction, and as a fiction author myself, I understand the delicate balance between creative license and keeping readers in a realm where it won't be difficult for them to suspend their belief. However, the thing with the mayor went over the edge of difficult into impossible.
If you're not picky with your fiction, and you want a Christmas-ish story that goes beyond the usual strict romance without getting deep, you'll probably enjoy this novella.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2024This was a great, well written novel. Keeps you in suspense but drops little nuggets to help you figure out the ending. It has two beautiful love stories intertwined to add much depth to the story. I would definitely read this author again. Grab this book and a cookie and a cup of Wassail, snuggle with your throw in your chair or window seat and enjoy the read. For all those who care, I didn't find a single typo.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2023This was an interesting book with mystery and intrigue. It seems like Libby is on the way to a successful B&B. It kept me reading to find out the relationship between Sadie and Jake. Ted brought another layer to the story. Thinking there could be a second book on Ted and Lilly's growing love story.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2024It's 3AM , and that should give you an idea how good it was. I couldn't put it down. It's a Christian cozy with a well written story line solid characters and a touch of romance.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2023Loved the characters, the dog of course and the historical bent. The dress was a nice touch. A little romance and a mystery to solve. Refreshing.

5.0 out of 5 stars History tells the story.
An intriguing book with more than one mystery. It was an excellent read and I sure can't wait to read the next book, Christmas time or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars a very good book
It was a very good story. I was never sure what was going to happen next or who was good and who was bad. It had an excellent ending.
