Forever Remain: Roxton Letters Volume Two (Roxton Family Saga Book 7) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 188 ratings

This second volume of previously unpublished letters from the private correspondence of the Roxton family spans a twenty-year period, from the 1770s to the late 1780s. They complement the later chronology of the award-winning Roxton Family Saga novels: Dair Devil, Proud Mary, and Satyr’s Son. With a foreword by a late-Victorian descendant, Alice-Victoria, 10th Duchess of Roxton.

I get Lucinda Brant. We are both diehard romantics at heart. When I first started reading Eternally Yours, the first volume of Roxton letters, I was unsure how a bunch of letters would hold my interest. I should never have doubted Lucinda Brant. Eternally Yours was magical. FOREVER REMAIN brings us into the world of the sixth duke, his duchess and their dynasty. A bold exciting look into the lives of the Roxton family told through a litany of personal letters which is like listening into their conversations. Each letter which truly feels like a personal chat, uncovers information that was not included in the previous books about this family or answers questions about people or circumstances mentioned in the saga. Lord Henri-Antoine quickly became one of my favorite Roxton characters in Satyr’s Son. I truly loved this story about misguided fraternity brothers and the realization of caring and friendship that prevailed. And of course when love came into the picture life was never going to be the same. So when I realized that so many letters of Forever Remain referred to Henri-Antoine as a young boy and then onto adulthood and ultimate marriage, well, I was of course hooked. Once again, Lucinda Brant has shown us why she is an undisputed master of this genre.—SWurman, Night Owl Reviews 5 STARS. —SWurman, Night Owl Reviews 5 STARS—TOP PICK

i personally loved the second edition of Roxton Letters. Now let me tell you why. Being a reader of all of the Roxton Family Saga these letters added to the wonderful stories of each of Lucinda Brant’s wonderful books. I felt like I was personally reading them myself. Some brought tears to my eyes as I remembered the part of the story the letter was talking about. The letters are personal in the way that the thoughts convey tenderness and affection from the writer to the one receiving it. I’ll give you just one letter that particularly I found interesting and is the last one. I won’t go into detail because you MUST get your own copy and read each beautifully written letter. I started rereading and listening along with my audiobook, Noble Satyr and getting ready for Midnight Marriage. You have to hear Alex Wyndham’s narration as he is so great‼️ Run now and get both Roxton Letters Volumes One And Two and grab your Kleenex Box. You will love them both. ❤️

A previous reviewer, Patricia Rodels, gets it right when she says that the advantage of Forever Remain is that the letters within add loads more value to the Roxton series. For example, they provide additional insights into the character of the letter writers, as well as more background and history and adventures and, very importantly, emotional intensity. . And that’s fine with me, as I’m a huge fan of the series.
I also enjoyed the first volume of Roxton letters and was one of the readers happy to confess to needing a hankie when I read the final letter to Antonia from her husband. So I’m delighted to report that the Old Duke is again very present in this collection of letters and, once again, his letters are my sentimental favourites. How clever of Brant to keep him alive this way.
There are a few more letters that rank highly with me - Jack’s to Teddy, where he tells her how much he loves her (and Deb) as well as Deborah’s to him; Kinross’ letters to Antonia when he learns she is pregnant and one to his daughter when he bemoans his loss of her and the geographic distance that separates them.
And, finally, the letter from Constantinople to Antonia, more for its detail of life there at the time than for the news of the most newly married couple.
My only disappointment was the silence from the New Duke. I know that many readers dislike him, but I remain loyal to the lad in red high heels.
I’m happy to recommend this volume to fans of the series. This time, I read the letters in short bursts and that worked well.
Autumn Duchess is a 5 and iit beats these letters from top spot, resulting in a 4.

You just can’t seem to get enough of the Roxton dynasty. This book gives more depth to the saga, like a very long epilogue.

Ms Brant books are a treat, and the Roxton series are brilliant. A Must read to give more credence to ROMANCE OF THE FAMILY. Read, you will not be disappointed ✨✨

I just wish that Ms Brant will come up with a narrative for Frederick Roxton and Elise Kinross, the youngsters who played vibrant roles in this series. I know I love this series and it’s all because of a brilliant author.

I normally do not like reading letters and diary pages I book form I had to read these 2 books and I am glad I did. The entire series was one of the best I have ever read and enjoyed every page. I especially loved the cover art which I usually pay no attention too since once my ebook is opened I never see it again but I looked at the cover every time I opened the book, the last book cover took my breath away and I wanted to meet the Duke in person with every turn of the page.

I've been waiting for the release of this book since I first heard about it. I loved the first Roxton letters book, Eternally Yours. It takes a great deal of story telling prowess to continue telling the stories of much beloved characters in letters. The intimacy I already feel with these characters is only enhanced and leaves me wanting more. Brant is a great story teller and I always anxiously await the next book. Thanks LB for the great book.

I just love Volume Two of the Roxton Letters! It brings all the emotions the characters felt when they read the letter sent to them. I truly love the letter to Henri-Antoine from his father the 5th Duke of Roxton during the last stages of his illness. How sad! And yes it brought a tear to my eyes. Thes letters are from the novels Dair Devil, Proud Mary, and Satyr’s Son and just like those novels, this book of letters will leave you content for finally knowing what the letters contain.

For anyone who has read the Roxton family series, this is a lovely postscript to a very impressive collection. The letters and diary entries it contains fill in much more background information about the characters in the various books and offer insights into events off stage, childhood incidents and innermost feelings of familiar characters. I found it very moving and it added some rich detail to books that I already consider among the best I’ve read.

A wonderful end to the Roxton series, though I am ever hopeful that the talented Lucinda Brant will carry on with a few more books, I can't believe I won't be part of the Roxton's life anymore. A total delight as a companion to the 6 books in the series.
