This book is the definition of a fun vacation read! Kennedy does a great job diving us straight into the lives of our main characters Isadora and Gerald. It only takes a few paragraphs to feel Isadora’s personality and then the payoffs for her reaction to her drastic lifestyle change, and the growth shown (eventually) after it, are authentic and a delight to follow.
Gerald on the other hand is a bit more reserved. Still, Kennedy weaves in personality and layers to this character as well that easily allows readers to understand their motivation and choices. At first I thought Isadora was overreacting, but Gerald really needs to communicate better!
As I write this, sitting on a plane on my way to Spain, I enjoyed the thorough setting and it may make me rethink my city heavy travel plans! This is a fun light book, dare I say whimsical, that’s a nice escape with fun characters for a few hours!

Jimmy Choos to Cleaning Loos by Kerry Kennedy. Isadora lives a lavish life in London of Champagne lunches with her best friend and going to the gym, getting her nails done often as well as her hair done every 6 weeks to keep up with the color and style. One day she comes home with her best friend Sammy to give her husband good news (for Sammy) only to be told news from her husband Gerard that he has retired from his current position and they will be moving to Spain to a small cottage while they reform a house for them to permanently live in. This move turns Isadora's life completely upside down as she is used to going on shopping sprees and buying high-end clothes, handbags, and fragrances. Now she has to learn to live frugally and go from having cleaners and a cook to doing everything herself. How will she survive this complete turnaround? This book was absolutely amazing, as are all of her books that I've read. This one is full of a sort of sadness and comedy all rolled into one. There are certain times in this book where Isadora gets into little situations that cause some entertainment for the locals. Every time it gets close to something might possibly happening, all I can think is, "Oh no. What now, Isadora?" This book had me laughing out loud and shaking my head at the crazy and outlandish hoity toity ways of Isadora as she goes through this journey. Another of Kerry Kennedy's books that gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!!
