Jimmy Choos To Cleaning Loos Kindle Edition
Leaving behind her perfect life and her best friend, no more shopping and boozy lunches in Harvey Nichols or Harrods, Isadora finds herself living half-way up a mountain, off-grid.
Gerard conveniently forgot to mention to his wife, that he has bought a large Masia in the Spanish countryside for them to renovate. It has no running water, no electricity and no gas. The property is completely derelict but it is beautiful and it does have potential.
Can Isadora flourish in her new life or will the strains and stresses of not being able to shop in luxury shops, enjoy boozy lunches and be shoulder high in pigeon poop take its toll? Will her beautiful marriage survive or will everything come crashing down around her?
Enjoy the ride of a lifetime as we go from London to Spain sharing the ups and downs of this hysterically funny book and the trials and tribulations of Isadora in her new life. A cosy, romantic comedy that will bring tears to your eyes, a lot of laugher and eventually that feel-good-feeling.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2024This book is the definition of a fun vacation read! Kennedy does a great job diving us straight into the lives of our main characters Isadora and Gerald. It only takes a few paragraphs to feel Isadora’s personality and then the payoffs for her reaction to her drastic lifestyle change, and the growth shown (eventually) after it, are authentic and a delight to follow.
Gerald on the other hand is a bit more reserved. Still, Kennedy weaves in personality and layers to this character as well that easily allows readers to understand their motivation and choices. At first I thought Isadora was overreacting, but Gerald really needs to communicate better!
As I write this, sitting on a plane on my way to Spain, I enjoyed the thorough setting and it may make me rethink my city heavy travel plans! This is a fun light book, dare I say whimsical, that’s a nice escape with fun characters for a few hours!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2023Vivid colours, and heady flavours. Hypnotising rhythms of love songs that promise luscious delights for the body but also delightful pain for the heart. Glorious sunsets you can watch every evening, sitting on your porch and drinking wine.
Isadora wants none of it.
Her life was perfect before her husband dragged her to the middle of nowhere. She doesn’t care about the beauty of the surrounding Spanish countryside. She doesn’t see any appeal in living in a quaint little cottage perched on the hill overlooking the sea.
She wants her glamorous life back. The life of a successful man’s wife, with her hair and nails being done in the most fashionable beauty parlour in London. With afternoons spent in expensive restaurants, chatting with her best friend and drinking champagne.
Isadora wants to live in a place where she can wear her favourite Jimmy Choos without fear of spraining her ankle.
Gerard, Isodora’s husband, thinks he made a perfect plan. He worked hard to accumulate enough in his bank account for an early retirement. The time has come to reap the fruit of his labour. What he couldn’t foresee is his beautiful wife's fierce opposition to making his dream come true.
Like an indoor flower pulled up by the roots from its elegant pot and planted into the depth of a jungle, Isadora stumbles through her new life – at times, literally stumbling and falling.
It seems that nothing can make her love this new life, and even less, her husband’s grand project – a house reform. The thing is, it’s not a usual house that Gerard bought to restore. It’s huge and intimidating, filled with nothing but bird poop, dust, and dirt.
“Jimmy Choos to Cleaning Loos” is a story of a transformation. Not only of an old house. At first, it seems that Isadora isn’t capable to enjoy any other lifestyle than the one of a spoilt rich man’s wife. But thanks to her husband’s courage to take a brave – or was it audacious? – step to change their lives, she is forced to re-evaluate what she really wants.
Isadora’s path to finding what makes her happy isn’t easy. She is a magnet for trouble. While reading, I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or both at the absurd situations the posh lady from London managed to get herself into.
I want to thank Kerry Kennedy for writing a novel that is a perfect example of what kind of book I’d like to take with me for my vacation in Spain.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2023Jimmy Choos to Cleaning Loos by Kerry Kennedy. Isadora lives a lavish life in London of Champagne lunches with her best friend and going to the gym, getting her nails done often as well as her hair done every 6 weeks to keep up with the color and style. One day she comes home with her best friend Sammy to give her husband good news (for Sammy) only to be told news from her husband Gerard that he has retired from his current position and they will be moving to Spain to a small cottage while they reform a house for them to permanently live in. This move turns Isadora's life completely upside down as she is used to going on shopping sprees and buying high-end clothes, handbags, and fragrances. Now she has to learn to live frugally and go from having cleaners and a cook to doing everything herself. How will she survive this complete turnaround?
This book was absolutely amazing, as are all of her books that I've read. This one is full of a sort of sadness and comedy all rolled into one. There are certain times in this book where Isadora gets into little situations that cause some entertainment for the locals. Every time it gets close to something might possibly happening, all I can think is, "Oh no. What now, Isadora?" This book had me laughing out loud and shaking my head at the crazy and outlandish hoity toity ways of Isadora as she goes through this journey. Another of Kerry Kennedy's books that gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!! Go check this out! You won't regret it. Happy reading!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very amusing book
A romantic comedy that left me wondering what was going to happen next. The antics of Gerard and Isadora had me chuckling throughout the story. A couple who were so much in love but felt like strangling each other at times (like the rest of us!). This isn’t my usual genre of reading but I’m so glad I bought this book. Light hearted laughter for the reader. We’ll done Kerry Kennedy. I’m now going to have to buy the sequel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic romantic conedy
A perfect book to take you away from everything. A hilarious romcom, superbly written with developed characters and very entertaining. Kennedy has a great way with delivering humour and the book had me laughing a lot.
Set in Spain we follow a woman's journey as she gives up her spoilt life in London to live in the Spanish countryside and to take on a house reform.
Isadora struggles to adapt with no friends or family support.
It was a joy to read how one person can adapt, change and come to love a world so far removed from what she was used to
I'm a huge fan of this author and really highly recommend this book

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun story
A change of lifestyle for Isadora is forced upon her by her husband Gerard and our main character struggles to adapt to a more simple life. The character's relationship is tested. Isadora is an accident waiting to happen and there are many funny incidents throughout the story. A fun read.
