Family Affairs: A gripping family drama set in Ireland (The Fitzgerald Family Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
On a journey of healing and self-forgiveness can a famous film star hide in plain sight, find love and family, or will a dangerous stalker end all her dreams?
With all the notorious gossip on social media, the press hounding her and the fear that lives with her daily, Francesca Jones needs to go home to Ireland – specifically to the Fitzgerald family, hers by default, and lick her wounds, to grieve and maybe even heal a little. No judgement, no blame, just simple acceptance. Hang with the ‘siblings’. Dev, the younger of the Fitzgerald sons, was likely to give her grief but she’d handle that – and he’d most likely not even be there – best all around. Definitely. Either way, she knows she’ll be safe from whoever is threatening to kill her, because her ‘found family’ will have her back.
Devlin Fitzgerald has never thought of Frankie, world renowned film and stage actor, as a sister. When he does think of her, which is way too frequently, it’s with longing and an unacceptable amount of unbridled lust. But when thrown back into her crazy mixed up life he knows he has to push all non-brother feelings aside and focus on her safety. He needs to be her protector, not her lover. And if it means offering his life for hers, he’ll be that man. He’ll be everything she ever needed, even if he dies trying.
“Compelling, steamy, and with plenty of danger thrown in for good measure, Pamela G. Hobbs is the Irish Nora Roberts and I cannot wait for more from this exciting new series.”⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - booksofallkinds

About the author

Pamela G Hobbs is an Adult Education Tutor by day and voracious reader and writer by night. She grew up and presently lives in Ireland but spent 12 years in the United States, on both coasts where her love for romance and suspense novels was first nurtured.
The mother of two grown sons and the minder of a rather ancient three legged cat, she and her landscape gardener husband enjoy reasonably fine wine, fine food (mostly cooked by aforementioned husband) and fine weather - well the last bit isn't really true - the weather in Ireland is rarely fine.
Being a winner in the 2015 Novel Fair gave Pamela a great boost in her writing career - "so nice to know people (judges, even!) who you have never met, like what you write!"
Other than painting (her original degree is in Art) Pamela's hobbies include reading and ....no that's it - just reading :-)

- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2024Liked the twists and turns of the story but
not so much the details of romance. The ending was very good.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2024This book made me laugh, and it made me cry. It brought out strong feelings so much of the time, and family was so important to them all. There was one really long detailed intimate scene, which is why I only gave it 4 stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2022Her books are a marvelous tale of an Irish family finding their way through personal troubles and sacrifice. All five books in the series are a must!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2020This is the first book I’ve read by Pamela G. Hobbs and I wasn’t disappointed. If you’re looking for a page turner that will keep you flipping the pages to see what’s going to happen next, then grab your copy and get ready to fall in love with the Fitzgerald family. Frankie was dumped on the Fitzgerald’s doorstep twenty years ago, so her mom could do her own thing. Most of the Fitzgerald siblings think of Frankie as a sister, but Devlin definitely doesn’t. After Frankie’s fiancé is murdered, she returns to Ireland hoping to get away from her stalker. When she goes to stay at the Fitzgerald’s lodge, she finds that Devlin is staying there already. While they are there, Devlin lets his feelings become know. Does Frankie feel the same way or does she think of him as a brother? Does her stalker find her in Ireland? No spoilers, so grab your copy and see what happens. I’m looking forward to reading more books by this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2021The writer has a true gift with words. The description of characters and places drew me in and I want to go see that part of Ireland for myself. The disappointing part for me personally was the multiple crated sex scenes. I normally would stop reading a book at the start of one of them. The story was so compelling and so well written I skipped over many pages instead and finished the whole book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2021The storyline was interesting. However the pacing was too slow. I was tempted many times to stop reading, but the main characters were interesting and likable. However the main character who was supposed to be pretty smart never suspected who the person stalking her was.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read !
A really enjoyable read. A set of characters true to life whose company I enjoyed and regretted having to part with at the end of the book! The suspense was very well brought about. It's the type of novel you get into straight away and don't want to leave down. A treat for a relaxing holiday read with a rich panoply of Irish expressions that help endear the characters to the reader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fifty Shade of Green.
This is the perfect holiday read. Full of warm engaging characters, stunning Irish scenery described so well as to make you feel you were there and a lot of witty dialogue. This Family affair is a cracking page turner with pace and intrigue and a lovely backdrop. A love story, a thriller, a travelogue all rolled into one. The sexy bits are sexy enough to be exciting without ever going too far. The whole thing makes you glad it's the first in a series and impatient for the second.

4.0 out of 5 stars A surprising suspense-filled plot and a satisfying romance.
This book surprised me - I was expecting a formulaic romance but while there's plenty of romance (and sex!) there are also some great characters and a suspense-filled plot. I did work it out but it didn't spoil my enjoyment. It's well written and moves along at a good pace, and while Frankie is slightly too perfect to be true she just manages to stay on the right side of annoying! I love the relationships within the family and I ended up with quite a soft spot for Flynn - maybe he'll get his own story in future?

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant book and great author, equally as good as Nora Roberts!
What a fantastic book! I adored the descriptions of the areas Frankie travels to, really sucked me in. She, and her family, are really good characters. I would be very happy to be a part of her family :-)
A good mix of romance and suspense, with both equally well written. A great holiday read, I only say holiday because if you try to read it at any other time you'll get so engrossed you'll simply need to finish it, at the expense of everything else!

5.0 out of 5 stars Do you like steamy dramatic novels? Then this is for you.
Well done Pamela Hobbs and Poolbeg. This is a cracking novel with everything to offer readers. Family, intrigue, glamour, crime and great sex scenes. Loved the chemistry between Devlin and Frankie. An all-round thrilling, gripping drama and a 5 star read. I look forward to more from this writer.
