Later that year, the prolific author followed with three additional titles independently, LADY LUCK'S A LOSER, contemporary romance, HEARTS STOLEN, book two of her historical Texas Romance Family Saga series set in 1839-1844, an Amazon #1 Best-seller, and A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS, volume one of her first Biblical fiction series, The Generations, also an Amazon #1 Best-seller.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2021I enjoyed this book, it is a page turner with no unholy words and sex acts. All of the characters was acceptable and somewhat comical.
I must admit, I wanted more and there could have been more info. about Priss mother and her man. I was thinking Quincy was meant for Priss mother. Loved the acknowledgement.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2023This is a feel good Christian historical romance -- clean, predictable, no conflicts, everything turns out rosy. The girls are super cute. If this is your genre you won't be disappointed, it's an easy one day vacation read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2020I really enjoyed this book. Priscilla is young and totally without funds. She travels to Dallas,TX to marry a man arranged by a matchmaker. She is surprised to find out he is much older and the chef at her hotel. Also he had no idea she was coming. A fun read!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2020A heartwarming, peaceful tale of love found in unexpected ways that has such a happy ending, and shows the Lords provision and guidance, even when we least expect it.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2021When Priscilla is told by her mother that this will be her last resort for survival after her father’s death, she tries to be brave to accept her fate as a mail order bride. After a long journey, she finds out that the situation is not quite as clear as she thought it might be. She tries to figure out what her next steps might be. When she starts to fall in love with all the people at the Lowell House, she hopes everything will fall in place.
The book is a feel-good romance where things click into place quite easily. I like that it was clean and the chemistry between the characters could be felt. I kept waiting for something to twist the plot, but it never happened. Although it was a historical fiction, the modern voice of the author seemed to come through. I appreciated Priscilla being honest and share the truth, even when others were trying to tell her it was not the right timing.
I would recommend reading this book. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own and I was not required to leave a positive review.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2021I really enjoyed this story so much that I didn’t want it to end. The author writes with a flare of humor in this story. Priscilla is a sweet young lady who finds herself on a train to Texas to get a husband. Life sure will be different for her once she hits her destination. I laughed as she realizes that the man she is to marry doesn’t even know about her. On my does Priscilla have a few surprises in store for her.
Quincy is a very accomplished chef who works at the hotel Priscilla will be staying at. He has no idea what a few people have schemed behind his back. They think it’s time he remarries but is he ready ? I adored his daughter Rayne and she stole the spotlight in this story. She adores her dad and loves being around her dad as he cooks but wants a mother so bad. She is not shy at all and talks day and night. I would love to be around her just because of her energy. The story made me hungry as we read about different dishes being made. Poor Priscilla doesn’t know how to cook, so maybe this will be a great match for her and Quincy.
I couldn’t wait to see how Quincy and Priscilla interact with each other. They develop a friendship as he teaches her how to cook. I cheered when she made her first biscuit. I have not accomplished that yet. I don’t cook and really don’t know how to. I’m blessed that my husband is a wonderful man who loves to cook. The chemistry between Quincy and Priscilla is not rushed and I like that in the story. The author develops her characters in a way that gives us a glimpse of their heart. It is a clean read with Biblical references that allow faith to guide our characters. I enjoyed reading a lighter and more humorous story than the author usually writes. It shows her talent and gives me another series to look forward to. As always her story helps me grow closer to God as the lesson is trusting God and enjoying the love of a family.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

I enjoyed my time within the story. It was an easy read and my time with Quincy & Priscilla went by quicker than I had expected. A truly light read. Happy Reading ! !
Note: I happened to find this story when it was a free kindle purchase.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2021Quincy and Priscilla need a little match making, or at least that’s what some people thing, the only thing is, Quincy is pretty much clueless, though Priscilla is well aware as her mother sends her off to Texas for her new marriage. Imaging her surprise when she finds out who Quincy is, and the fact that he has no clue who she is and what she is here for. Boy is he in for a surprise.
I love Caryl McAdoo’s books and this is such a fun one to read, and as Ms. McAdoo says, a roller coaster ride for sure. I enjoyed the journey with Priscilla and Quincy, though it wasn’t always an easy one. McAdoo created wonderful characters with this one, each telling their story so expertly and I enjoyed watching their development throughout the story. There are twists and turns here in the story as well that kept me on my toes as I read this wonderful read. And if I say more I am sure to give away the plot. So go grab this book so that you can read it for yourself. You are sure to love it just as I did. I give this one 5 Stars!
A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
