Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior: From Seeds to Swords: An Unofficial Minecraft Adventure Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 4,464 ratings

Pet slimes. A potion brew-off. A creepy forest that no one will explain. What’s a twelve-year-old warrior-in-training to do?

As Runt and his friends continue their battle preparation, they face their biggest challenges yet—and it’s not just those zombies decked out in body armor (which is
really weird, by the way). Runt’s got a brand new nemesis who will stop at nothing to claim the top spot in the warrior competition at school. And, to make matters worse, there’s a strange girl following him around wherever he goes. But old enemies will become new allies as the town rallies to save the school from a series of mysterious mob attacks. Can Runt and his friends take down the biggest, baddest boss mob yet?

With fun text changes, full-color illustrations throughout, and shorter text blocks to reward readers balanced with longer text blocks to challenge readers, this book will get Minecraft fans off the screen and into reading!

Editorial Reviews

Review

"On the flip side of the mess that is typically self publishing, we occasionally encounter a shining star like CubeKid. I am rarely impressed by any of the KindleUnlimited books I read to Ben at night, self published or not, never mind works published at the speed at which s/he puts them out. Cubekid is a bonafide author, spinning authentic and enthralling stories with witty dialogue that is the most enjoyable work to read out loud I have encountered in the past year (maybe ever, to be honest... there is such a smooth flow to reading these books out loud that I look forward to our bedtime reading time, and I have a hard time putting my kindle down when my son starts yawning and is clearly ready to go to sleep. *I* want to know what happens next!)." -- Keri (source: amazon.com/review/RK5325ULHDLMP)

About the Author

Cube Kid is the pen name of Erik Gunnar Taylor. A fan of video games—and particularly Minecraft—he started writing fan fiction at a very young age. His first novel, The Diary of a Minecraft Villager, was self-published as an ebook in February 2015 and quickly became tremendously successful in the Minecraft community. The novel was acquired by the French publisher Édi8, and was published for the first time in France in February 2016 under the title LE JOURNAL D'UN NOOB, with new illustrations by Saboten. The Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior series sparked worldwide interest and has evolved into several series including a graphic novel adaptation and a series for young readers that are published in 10 different languages.
When he is not writing, Cube Kid loves travelling, fixing his car, voraciously reading fanfiction . . . and gaming!

This book is AMAZING!! I'm being honest! I enjoyed reading this so much! A great second part to the "Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior" series, we are introduced to a couple new characters which improve the storyline even more! I would recommend this book/series to anyone and everyone who has the ability to read it. Cube Kid has sucessfully created not just a story, but a world where the readers can experience it as vividly as the characters do.
    To Cube Kid,
Thank you for the effort that you put into this series! I bet that it can really become difficult to keep up with writing and well, life. But in writing, you really have hit gold with your ideas and storytelling! I know that i'm not exactly the first reader of this series, but I enjoy it all the same! I hope you have an awesome day!!

I think this series would be good for kids who are into Minecraft but are not necessarily into reading. Simple plots, easy to follow, probably best for the 4th grade and under crowd.

It isn’t just about fighting It’s about friendship and people.Runt thinks Breeze is weird and weak, but then realizes that she isn’t.He realizes that she’s smart and strong in her own way.I love how this books strengthens the relationship between Runt and Max.They used to be enemies, but desperate times call for desperate measures. It’s a pretty good book with more fighting and epic battles. We get to learn about more monsters of Minecraftia and life of Runt. It’s a really funny and great book to read when you’re bored.Totally recommend.

It is an interesting book, an awesome minecraft story. The books are very humorous, with just enough touch of humanity, I can't wait for the next book and hope it comes out soon. I have read this series over and over again and still love to read it, I just got the latest book last week and have read it twice. Ur one of my favorite authors cube kid, and if you keep coming out with more books you will stay and improve that rating on my brother's and my favorite authors. You are one of the best and I love your talent. And I'd like to say that you have inspired me in many other ways to do stuff in minecraft. All in all I love your imagination and your ability to put it into words.

    Sincerely,
    Mason

5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Enjoyable, Exciting Book📖👍.

Runt (the villager's name) is trying his best to become a warrior. However all of the kids want to become one so there is a great competition going on. I do think he will become a warrior, but also I think he has greater potential as he might defeat Herobrine.
My favourite part of the story was when the defeat the legendary boss 'Urk Doomwhip'. It was incredibly exciting.😃 I believe Runt will obtain a Diamond Sword and I think he will become great friends with Breeze. 💎🗡️

If you enjoy reading or playing Minecraft then this is a perfect fit for you. 😄

    By Andrew age 9. 👍

My kid is a Minecraft fan and really likes this series. However, we had 2 books in the series as paperbacks and they fell apart, due to which my other kid cannot read them. The hardcovers are great quality, so I'd recommend to spend the extra bucks and get that version.

Highly recommend for early elementary readers who are starting to read more independently. My son loves Minecraft, and we were introduced to the first book by a friend. It used to be a little difficult to get him to read on his own, but he'll spend hours with these books reading quietly by himself now and has been excited to share and read them to me, too.
