About the Author

Diane loved creative writing as a child. Then one very influential college professor put an end to everything--at least for many years. She re-discovered her love to tell stories in 2002 when she developed her first feature length screenplay. That led Diane to become active in the independent film industry and she wrote, directed and produced several short films winning numerous awards for her efforts. She has written many feature-length screenplays, including one she also co-produced called Atrophy that premiered at the Phoenix Film Festival and where she was the recipient of the 2012 Arizona Filmmaker of the Year Award. After spending most of her life living in Southern California and Phoenix, Arizona, she moved to Texas in 2013. At that time she created a blog (dianedresback.com), and started to capture her story ideas into novels.

    The Pro's:

The book came to my house was faster then I expected that was great! This book offered some great advice and I loved the personal experiences Diane shared. The motivation factor seems more realistic when one has experiences personally and shares them. I enjoyed how she shared tips on trying motivational tactics instead of just saying "go get motivated yourself." Many people have to be led by the hand and I think she done a fantastic job there. I like how she threw some humor in and laughed at her self at times. Diane was realistic of her faults which was great to see because sometimes we fail at motivation because of trying to reach perfection.

    The Con's:
Although there were some great ideas I felt the book was like most "motivational" books. You hear it once you have heard it a million times. Someone who is new to trying to get motivated this would be a great book to start! However for those of us who are pretty motivated naturally and has read a ton of books on motivational techniques there was not an "eye opener" moment.

Overall I think the book was realistic, offered great ideas, entertaining, and perfect for someone trying to learnhow to become motivated.

I feel privileged to have read Diane’s book prior to publication. It is a wonderful self-help book…one that anyone can relate to and learn from. We all have those items on a “to do” list that we never seem to get to. Diane helps us tackle those items in a well-written, easy to read and understandable way. I found the real life examples to be very useful. This is not a book to be read once and placed on the shelf, but one that will be used ongoing as a helpful reference tool.
