This book is very well written and provides excellent strategies for helping friends and family deal with grief. We have all been touched by loss one way or the other and this book is based on an acknowledgement of this fact. It is a timeless Bible-based book, which will continue to be important years and years from today. Thank you, Katherine Hussmann Klemp for helping us help others in times of grief. There is power in reaching out to hurting friends; bringing comfort where there is loss of hope.

I purchased and read this book and had an immediate opportunity to use the principles. I stepped into an individual's place of grief with much more confidence. I was empowered with strategies for conversations. The individual who is still processing her loss was receptive, and I observed her acceptance of not only my words but also my emotional presence. Thank you, Katherine Hussman Klemp, for sharing your wisdom.

Even if you don't have anyone now who is in need of comfort, you will one day, and you will experience loss also. This book not only helps with what to say and what not to say, the examples of the stories and true accounts solidifies her teachings in this book. A quick and easy read!

If you've ever felt ill-prepared to comfort a grieving friend or family member, this is a must-read. Katherine gives a very concise guide on all the "to-do's" and NOT "to-do's". She also explains some of the hard emotions a grieving individual may go through, and even get stuck in, and how to handle them. I found lots of great advice for comforting someone who has experienced any kind of trauma though, not just a loss through death. There's practical advice if you're wanting to know how to be there for anyone who is in a season of crisis.
