4.6 out of 5 stars 75 ratings

A masquerade ball sets the stage for an American wallflower’s revenge against an English noble, only to be complicated by unexpected love…

American Eva Westbrook has had enough of English aristocrats looking down their snooty noses at her. Among these elite nobles is her neighbor, Peter Hartigan, a notorious rake she believes played a part in her cousin's humiliation a few years ago. Disguised as a mysterious masked woman and seeking reprisal, Eva sneaks into a masquerade ball that Peter is hosting.

As Eva spends more time with Peter, she realizes he may not be the heartless blackguard she thought he was. She becomes torn between her duty to avenge the past pain and suffering of her dear cousin and the unexpected feelings for the very man who’d caused it.

As they dance the midnight waltz, Eva and Peter engage in a dangerous game of deception and desire. Eva struggles to maintain her facade while battling her growing attraction to Peter. Meanwhile, Peter is captivated by the enigmatic woman in his arms and is determined to uncover her true identity.

With her blossoming feelings conflicting with a quest for vengeance, will Eva decide to follow through with her vendetta or let go of the past and take a chance on a future with Peter?

★★★★★ "I love Ms. Cameron's
marvelous ability to place the reader in the room with the characters. She crafted a superb description of the ballroom - from the "distinct aromas of body odor" to "the ping of rancid pomade", the "musty costumes, and cloying perfume" - oh, my nose was twitching just reading about it." ~ Terrie

From the Author

Dear Reader,

THE WALLFLOWER'S MIDNIGHT WALTZ is part of
The Revenge of the Wallflower Series and also a book in my Chronicles of the Westbrook Brides Series.

You first met Eva Westbrook in the series prequel, MIDNIGHT CHRISTMAS WALTZ, and she has makes appearences in MISSION AT MIDNIGHT and HOLLY, MISTLETOE, AND MIDNIGHT SNOW. I hadn't planned on her having a story of her own. Still, when I had the opportunity to participate in
The Revenge of the Wallflowers Series, I decided an American visiting her British relatives might have more than one reason to exact a bit of revenge on an English aristocrat.

Eva's more outgoing and forthright than English drawing rooms and ballrooms are accustomed to, making her an outsider. She also holds a grudge against Peter Hartigan because of an incident involving her cousin a couple of years ago. You'll love her independence, wit, and compassion.

Peter isn't at all what he's been made out to be, and as the story progresses, you'll understand why the Westbrooks loathe the Hartigans but also that they are mistaken when it comes to him. Isn't it like human nature; to hang on to a perception, though it may be wrong?

Make sure you don't miss out on any of the other books in my Chronicles of the Westbrook Brides Series by connecting with me on social media and my website.

Happy reading!

Hugs,
Collette

What do you get when you combine a special story and Collette Cameron? A wonderful heartwarming romance that cannot be denied!

She is an American, bent on revenging her cousin, when she meets the incorrigible man. What she did not expect was that he did not seem to remember and was not the person she thought.

The attraction is simmering and she does not think she can keep up her revenge plans. Can they find love?

As usual this author pulls out all the stops and pulls you into this special journey!

A very sweet novella, that only takes a couple of hours to read. Peter Hartigan has returned after a devastating injury leaves him without a big chunk of his memories. Told he humiliated Althea Westbrook, the nearby neighbors, Peter is afraid but determined to give his apologies to the family, even not knowing what he did. So he holds a masquerade party and gives an invite to a servant at the Westbrook’s home…not knowing the servant he handed it to was not a servant at all.

Eva Westbrook is an American cousin visiting on an extended stay. She knows how badly Althea was hurt, and vows to go to the masquerade to humiliate Peter like he did to her cousin. But when she gets there, she finds he may not be the cad everyone made him out to be, and finds the attraction between them undeniable…

Will it work out for the two? And what really happened that night with Althea? This is nice fun read and although very short, and I’m not normally a fan of instant love type tropes, it actually works pretty nicely here.

The Wallflower’s Midnight Waltz, by Collette Cameron and part of the Revenge of the Wallflowers series, was great! I loved American, Eva Westbrook, and he way she wanted to take revenge on behalf of her cousin, but changed her mind as soon as she realized that Peter Hartigan wasn’t the man she thought he was. Love at first site can happen, I know it, and it was beautiful to read!

An evil twisted sister who only wants to hurt her brother and anyone he may care far. An accident that leaves him scared and amnesia.
