He clutched his chest as if a massive weight dropped on it. The pain scored through his whole being at the words coming from her mouth. Her crying words bursting out between hiccups were almost hard to decipher. “Nix, I cannot do this anymore. It is not fair for me to be so selfish. We are over. I am leaving today. File the signed divorce papers from your office desk. Your father has a good relationship with a judge who will push them through since they were signed three years ago. I wish you the best.” Then she folded up putting her head in her hands and began to sob uncontrollably.

Her garbled word of goodbye slayed him. He spun out of his frozen state of denial. He dropped to his knees at her feet. He cupped her wet face into his hands. His voice trembled in confusion and fear. “Pringkipissa what is this about? We will never be over. Do you hear me Arabella? I will never be over us. Make me understand what is going on.” His own eyes welled in tears at her explanation. “I must let you go. I cannot fulfill the requirements of this marriage.”

Arabella’s father agreed to an arranged marriage for his daughter to his business partners twin son. She is shocked when at the altar her groom is switched with the wrong twin. The twin brother that she loathes but secretly loved. Can she walk away from him when staying together jeopardizes their inheritance?

Nix did not want his twin brother’s love stricken child bride. Yet here he was in a custom fitted tuxedo waiting at the altar for his bride. They were honor bound to uphold the agreement that required them to stay married with producing an heir to retain their inherited shares and for him to be CEO.

The regret was stamped on his face in recognition of the past. His husky sympathetic words washed over her. “Do not mistake that non wedding night as being unwanted. You were a tempting beautiful bride that any groom would have slavered over. Including myself, the wrong twin groom. You were expecting your childhood crush as your groom not me. Not that I could not have made you easily forget him in just one go.”

She bristled at his assumption of his abilities. The next line of fabrication was equally offensive. “Arabella you were still a child when we married. You were not ready for our arrangement.” He reached out his fingers to trail over her cheek down her neck to slide his hand around the back of her neck. Bringing her closer he skimmed his eyes hotly over her almost naked body as he stated. “Now I have given you all the time allocated that I can for you to grow into a mature woman. You are now undeniably a woman. It is time for you Pringkipissa to transition from being my bride to becoming my wife. Husband and wife sleep in the same house in the same bed. So tonight, we start our marriage.”

So much more hung in the balance than just their feelings for one another. Their combined shares would someday be equal to seventy-five percent of the company. Their marriage had to be consensual, and they would try for an heir. He just had to convince her that divorce was not an acceptable choice. Or will they sacrifice everything to choose love?
