From the Author

In January of 2018, I realized my dream of publishing this poetry book. Finding Their Way Home deals with a variety of different themes - all of which are dear to my heart. Each theme is housed under the umbrella theme of our shared humanity. And while some poems treat difficult issues like domestic abuse, sexual assault, and self-harming, there are also poems about love and healing. 
 
Ultimately, this is a book about resilience and hope for a better tomorrow. In section three, I look at our connection to nature. There, you'll read about a stubborn maple tree and the lesson she learns. Throughout, the language is simple, honest, and heartfelt. It's my sincere wish that you, dear reader, will enjoy this small collection of poems. Thank you for reading!

Brenda Baker lives with her husband in Labrador City, Canada. She has a BA and a B.Ed. from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Starting a blog in 2015, Brenda rediscovered her love of creative writing. Three years later, she published her debut poetry collection, Finding Their Way Home. She published her first novel, Flowers and Ash, in 2023.

    This is an absolutely wonderful book of poetry. The author really shares from her heart. Some of these poems are heart-wrenching and I felt a pull toward the author as she shared such heartfelt poems. These will grab and tug at your heart strings. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to more from this author. Excellent book and it gets 5***** from me.

    Wow! The author's words dominate the pages of this book and provide intellectual unadulterated views of the world directly from her heart. This is not your normal book of poems, it is life's perspective that leaves you thinking long after reading the final page.
