Doc (Desert Rebels MC Book 8) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 39 ratings

Doc has been a member of the Desert Rebels for a long time. He had his own clinic until a sweet, beautiful nurse came on board and ruined everything. Harlow is married and a complication Doc didn't need. He tried; he really did. But after a while he couldn't stand working beside a woman he wanted more than he needed air to breathe

Giving his practice up seemed the only logical solution, but life has a way of kicking you in the ass when you least expect it. Harlow becomes friends with some of the old ladies and suddenly she's frequenting the clubhouse and club owned bar. There's only one way Doc can survive being around her.

Make the beauty hate him any way he can.

Excerpt - Doc's POV

A divorce? It took only a moment for that news to reach my brain, and then my body reacted. I needed to get Harlow somewhere private where we could be alone for the conversation I had in mind. A divorce was fucking music to my ears, and the only other question I had for her was when. When was it going to be final? And then I was going to go into stark detail of everything I was going to do to her.

Maybe even give her a sample, if she was receptive to the idea.

It occurred to me that I had some serious damage control to take care of. As I pulled her around the building toward the clubhouse door, Mitzi stepped outside, carrying a tray. Her eyes lit up when she saw me, and I clenched my teeth because I knew what was coming next, and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

"Baby! I was going to look for you after I dropped this tray off." Her eyes moved past me to Harlow, then dropped to our linked hands. Confusion flirted across her face, and I could tell that she was trying to work out what was going on. To anyone else it wouldn't have been obvious, but Mitzi and I had an arrangement, and she had her orders. "Thank you for a good time last night."

Nothing had happened the night before.

Mitzi used her free hand to caress the side of my face and shot me a lingering, flirty, air kiss. "I've never had so many orgasms," she added, twisting in the knife.

It was an outrageous comment, and I knew it had sealed the nail in my coffin. It was also a flat out lie. Not the orgasm part, but her insinuation that it had been with me. She and Snake had put on quite a show for the rest of us the night before, knowing that the dark little corner they'd been sitting in wouldn't disguise their noisy sex marathon.

I felt Harlow tug on her hand to get away from me, but I tightened my grip.

"Let me go, Liam."

"Not until we talk."

"There's nothing to talk about." She dug in her heel. "Do I have to call for backup?"

I snorted out a laugh before I could stop it. She was cute if she thought anyone at the clubhouse would dare intervene, unless her posse of old ladies was nearby. They would come to her rescue, and they were scary when they were on the warpath.

"I'll scream."

It sounded like a hollow threat, but I came to a jerking halt and spun around to face her. "Then I'll just have to stuff something in your mouth to keep you quiet." Like my tongue. Or better yet, my dick. With every word I spoke, Harlow's eyes widened, and her mouth fell open with disbelief. Perfect.

"I'm-I'm not one of your, ah, club girls," she sputtered, her cheeks turning pink.

I could see the hurt in her eyes. Hear the slight quiver in her voice. Damn, she was beautiful, standing there all flushed and indignant, looking so sweet and innocent. My gaze traveled down to her amazing tits. The dress she had on was tight at the top, outlining their fullness. One of the thin straps had slipped down her shoulder, momentarily distracting me. Then I felt her tug her hand again.

I was so glad to see Ms. Richards had a new addition to her wonderful Desert Rebels series.
This is about Doc "Liam" and Harlow. Doc was wanting Harlow when she was his nurse but at the time she was married. He sold the practice and tried to forget her with club girls.
Harlow is now divorced and she is friends with some of the wives of club members. She comes to cookouts and things but Doc is so hateful to her and always grabs a club girl when she is around.
Is there any hope for them? Read it and see. It is so worth five stars!
This might be the last book but thankfully the whole series is worthy to be reread again and again!!!

Finally, we get to see Doc fall hard for a woman. What made this book unique was we were dropped smack in the middle of Doc's crises--the fact that he's been head over heels for a married woman for a long while, and she's loved him back. Doc kept his distance because he respected her marriage vows, the problem is in order to control his need for her, he treated her like dirt to keep her at a distance. It didn't work to keep her away, but it did hurt her. It was great to see so many previous couples, and I really enjoyed the developing relationship between Doc and Harlow and how ALL IN Doc was once he learned Harlow was almost single. The smexy times were delicious, the suspense was tingly, and the overall read sucked me in, got me off, and left me satisfied. Another great read by Ms. Richards.

He had to keep her away at all costs, so he wasn’t tempted to cross that line. She was a married woman and he had no business wanting her the way he did. What he didn’t know is that she felt the same, as her marriage had fallen into a rut months ago. She just couldn’t understand why he kept hurting her and pushing her away. When news of her divorce comes to his attention, all bets are off. Even with a threat coming at the club, he will finally have her. Definitely recommend this book, author and series. I strongly advise that you start with book 1 in the series, so you become familiar with the Desert Rebels MC.

4 1/2 stars for me. I loved Doc's determination to not interfere with Harlow's marriage. Once he found out about the impending divorce, he still remained mostly celibate. There were plenty of steamy moments, just not the final connection. Harlow was hurt by her marriage/divorce, didn't trust herself, but had the sense to follow her desires. She was connected to the MC through the old ladies, though she continued to feel a bit on the outside. I thoroughly enjoyed the twist regarding her marriage/divorce. I also loved the support of the entire MC for this couple.

I received a copy of this story through RABT Book Tours, and this is my unsolicited review.

Fabulous read. I absolutely loved Doc and Harlow’s story ❤️❤️❤️ they both had feelings for each other long before they got together, Doc left his practice to keep his attraction for her under control but the old ladies of the club kept bringing her in for club events, Doc was fighting a losing battle. Harlow felt the same and couldn’t understand why Doc hadn’t made a move, her attraction was as strong as his but Doc didn’t know her divorce was nearly final. They have chaos and drama to contend with, a nasty club girl to deal with and Doc doubt to conque. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎

Another good story in this series . Doc certainly had some will power . Harlow has a good bit less . But it made for a great story . Really enjoyed it well with reading .
