My favorite book in the series!

I really enjoyed Trevor and Samantha's journey to love. From he beginning, I had a clear idea about who these characters were, what made them tick and it became so obvious for me how much they needed each other--even if they didn't know it! Sexy, emotional and irresistible.

It's a standalone romance so you don't need to read the others to enjoy.

Samantha Bennett has just been refused a government grant for her company Skyline Air. Samantha is ex-military and a helicopter pilot, she has hired many veterans who depend on her for their paycheck. Trevor Maguire hires her to fly him incognito to Montana and they settle into a rather interesting conversation. Trevor decides he has a great idea to save Samantha’s company and solve some of his own problems. I loved the role reversal with Samantha being the vet and Trevor a movie star and director. I liked the role that Trevor played to justify his presence on the premises was a great touch and led to a few amusing scenes. The secondary story of Trevor Maguire discovery of a deep dark family secret that shocked him was part of the rationale for Trevor going to Montana but they used a cover story. The story was complicated but the characters and their interactions along with excellent descriptions of various environments makes this a clear must read for the summer. I received this book as an ARC and this is an independent review.

Love, Love Love, anything Christine Glover writes. This is no exception.

Samantha & Trevor are so alike, yet different in their views of love & happiness. The chemistry is electric, and the relationship that blossoms out of it is beautifully written. I liked that Ms. Glover went against stereotype and cast Samantha as a Navy veteran.

This story gave me a good feeling, and I enjoyed the subplot a lot. This is the second book by Ms. Glover I've read, and I have to say I regret not reading Book 2 in this series.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book, and dare I say, series? I'm thinking that if Books 1 & 3 were this good, then Book 2 must be, also.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

Resisting the Heartbreaker is Book 3 in the Hollywood Heartbreakers series, and is Trevor Maguire's story. Trevor, a Hollywood director and actor, is used to being in control and taking care of the family, especially his sisters. But now, he's facing a situation where he can't trust anyone with a recently revealed truth, and he definitely can't confide in his family since it will rock them to the core. Enter Samantha Bennett. Samantha, ex-military and owner of her own company Skyline Air, is also facing a difficult situation. Her business, which employs veterans, is about to go belly up. She's just been denied a government grant, and if she doesn't find another source of funding, she will lose everything. Enter Trevor. Samantha is Trevor's pilot, but their all business relationship is about to make a sharp turn as Trevor offers to save her struggling business if she will not only allow him to temporarily work at Skyline for research for an upcoming film, but also be available at any time to fly him where he needs to go. Trevor is conducting his own investigation into his past, and Samantha is just the person to help him.

I love Christine Glover's books. She never fails to deliver well-rounded characters, solid story lines, amazing romance, and sizzling heat. Resistinng the Heartbreaker isn't an exception. Though Samantha and Trevor have never crossed that professional line before, being in such close quarters is straining that non-fraternization rule Samantha has in place. Trevor knows becoming involved with her will only complicate already complicated circumstances but he can't stop fantasizing and wanting the strong, pretty, independent pilot. Soon, he begins to confide in Samantha, finding she is the only person she can trust, and enlists her help. Samantha is by his side through--I'm not going to spoil it! But suffice it to say, Samantha supports Trevor unconditionally and proves herself to be a stalwart, trustworthy friend...and lover. Because in the midst of all this, their passion can't be denied. But sex doesn't erase the issues standing between them. What I loved about Samantha, though, was she didn't put up with it. She was sympathetic and understanding, but boy was she no doormat. She had dignity. And I loved her character. I loved Trevor, too, and considering all that he unveils, it's no wonder he has problems with letting down his guard. There is a happily ever after for these two, and they worked hard to get it. And the journey there is what makes this love story so awesome.

Resisting the Heartbreaker is a lovely, at times humorous (the dialogue was fantastic), sensual romance that will draw you in and not let you go until you finish the last page. The third book in the Hollywood Heartbreakers series delivered! Another Christine Glover homerun!
