The Dead Shall Rise: Zombie Zombie Zombie (Dark Tide Horror Novellas Book 10) Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 13 ratings

They’re coming to get you, Brave Reader.

“Prepare Because Death is Coming” by Jay Wilburn: "Take this and bear the warning." When a messenger arrives at Dry Stretch, warning that a horde of zombies is heading their way forty years after the fall, Bay scoffs at the news. But a 'full body' meeting is called. Ethic is sent north to scout, but in Dry Stretch, no one is preparing. No one is repairing the walls. A William Faulkneresque story of the dead set in a dystopic dust-bowl town.

“Zombie Diner” by Armand Rosamilia: A family finds themselves on the wrong side of the zombie apocalypse while on vacation in Florida…

“Dance with the Dead” by Erin Louis: Tiffney is expecting just another night at the strip club. But when a customer goes berserk in the VIP room, things take an unexpectedly bloody turn. Stuck with a cocaine raddled manager and a shady club owner. Tiffney faces the unimaginable and is forced to turn her coworkers into allies to fight the evil that has taken over the club. Together they have to fight to stay alive.

This Zombie horror anthology is perfect for fans of post apocalyptic survival, The Walking Dead series, zombie apocalypse, and World War Z.

Crystal Lake’s Dark Tide series will continue soon with more tales of Mystery Thrillers and Horror Books, including themes of Weird Western, Sherlock Holmes, Grief Horror, Body Horror, Mystery fiction, Travel Horror, Deadly Duos, and Psychological Thriller books.

There is nothing I like more than a good zombie movie! The perfect combination of an apocalypse, shambling undead horror, mysterious unknown causes, and social commentary make me smile. The only thing I like more than a good zombie movie is a great zombie book."—A. E. Jackson

3 different types of zombie stories. Each with a very different take on the zombie apocalypse. All 3 were pretty good reads with some interesting characters and endings...

    The Dead Shall Rise

    Prepare Because Death is Coming
    by Jay Wilburn

This gave me some old timey wild west vibes, but I believe it takes place in the future.  This town reminded me of some of the groups that are encountered in The Walking Dead or The Last of Us. I got a little confused with the multiple POVs at times, but I think I kept it straight. This was enjoyable, had good world building, some interesting characters, and of course zombies! This one gets 3⭐️ from me.

    Zombie Diner
    By Armand Rosamilia

Whew, that was fast-paced and hard to put down. This story follows a family and others during an initial zombie outbreak. One of the main characters, Grady, was a real piece of work and absolutely despicable. I hated him and was cheering for the zombies to get him. The characters were all well written and had very different reactions to the outbreak. It made me think what would people actually do if something like this were to happen. This one was grim, the eay I like it. I'm giving this one 4⭐️

    Dance with the Dead
    By Erin Louis
This was a different kind of zombie story, more intimate taking place in one building. It was about a small zombie outbreak that happened in a strip club. The women who worked there took up arms and challenged misconceptions and stereotypes of exotic dancers. After reading the notes about the author, I found out they were a former exotic dancer! The main character was likable, I was quickly invested in her story. One thing I learned from this is to never underestimate the power of glitter! This was my favorite short story of the three, and it gets a well-deserved 5⭐️

Overall, I give this collection of short stories 4⭐️. It was enjoyable. It wasn't the same old zombie stories I'm used to, and I would recommend it!

The Dead Shall Rise: Zombie Zombie Zombie is another worthwhile entry in Crystal Lake Publishing 's Dark Tide Mysteries and Thrillers Book series.

The first story in the book is “Prepare Because Death is Coming” by "Jay Wilburn. Although a horde of zombies represent a probable danger to a small post-apocalyptic farming community, many wealthy and younger members of the town are hesitant to take action because it's been years and years since zombies have presented any real danger.

The second story is “Zombie Diner” by Armand Rosamilia. A dysfunctional family experiences the beginning of the zombie apocalypse while on vacation in Florida.

The final story in the book is “Dance with the Dead” by Erin Tiffney. Strippers! Mad scientist! The mob! Drugs! A fast moving and exciting story set in a strip club.

I enjoyed this book very much. I received an ARC but even if I hadn't, I would have snatched this book up immediately upon its release. Crystal Lake Publishing consistently puts out good stuff.

Great book with three great stories. There’s Jay Wilburn’s post-zombie-apocalypse western type story with zombies instead of cattle; Armand Rosamilia’s story deals with the beginning of an outbreak—as well as the dissolution of a family in the process; and Erin Louis gives us zombies in a strip club, along with a really cool idea about what could be an antidote against being bit. Highly recommended.

As a horror author myself, I'm very finicky what I read. After that being said I indulged myself on The Dead Shall Rise: Zombie Zombie Zombie and it left me hungry.... wanting more! Highly recommended! Don't miss out on this book!

Perfect for zombie lovers, with not your usual tales.
If you live in or plan to visit Florida you'd better avoid the Zombie Diner! Great story.
