- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2024I throughly enjoyed this Quilting Cozy Mystery Book by Kathryn Mykel as with all her books! Kathryn keeps you guessing right up to the end!
I would recommend this book to everyone who loves cozy mystery’s. I always enjoy reading books themed around sewing, but sewing wasn’t the focus so if you don’t enjoy that hobby. No problem, you will still enjoy this book!
One thing that I am curious about is how does the main character support herself financially? She was able to work on this case without concern money wise. Just my inquiring mind working here!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2024It was a fine story of who did the murder of a famous writer. Olivia belongs to a group of people who get hired to help find the clues killers leave and call themselves "Catch a Killer Club. Everyone else is busy, so Olivia has the case by herself.
Meeting with James, the victim's brother, they go see where the body was found and talking to her secretary Francine, who didn't have much to tell them other check out a girl named Sally.
Finding all the angles and the why's is a difficult job. Good reading
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2024Although I suspected the murderer right away, Mykel does an excellent job making me doubt my suspicions. Fun whodunnit that keeps you guessing to the final showdown.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2024Having your crew/friends is so helpful. Unfortunately for Liv they are all busy, just when Terry snuffs it. So solo it is! Luckily Terry's brother is helping, wanting to get justice for her.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2024I have read Kathry Mikel books prior I didn’t find this one as good. She kept accusing the wrong person of the crime in person. I would find it interesting to be in a club solving mysteries.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2024Liv worked her first single case and found a date in the interim. Such an easy, quick, and good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2024Liv takes on a semi cold case on behalf of a club (Catch a Killer Club) she belongs to, and then finds out that none of the other members of the club are available to help. This is her first solo case, although she is able to post to other members of the club for help and advice. She has to find the killer of Terry Van Bosch, a famous quilter and author, who has been killed. Liv goes about her job methodically, using all the skills she has learned helping with other cases, and looking at the room Terry was found dead in with the eyes of a quilter. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is the first I have read by Kathryn Mykel and I will definitely be reading the rest of the books in this trilogy, and other books she has written as well.
I read an ARC of Fine Points are Sketchy
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2024Olivia Taylor is a member of the Catch a Killer Club but when murder calls again, she has to answer it solo. A famous quilter has been murdered and the police are stymied. The quilter's brother, however, decides to reach out to Olivia and her club for help. The two team up to tackle this mystery and finally unravel the clues to discover the truth. This is a quick and easy read.
