- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2024I love the Younglings series! It's always a great adventure to see what mischief they get in and out of and the new characters that come and go. My emotions were on a roller coaster with this book! I hope Author Craggs keeps this series going! I highly recommend this series!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2024The fourth instalment of the Younglings “Storms, Starlight & Magic” by Helena M. Craggs wraps up the story beautifully. It is also a mind-blowing rollercoaster of events that doesn’t let you take a breath between turning the pages.
Quinn Carter might be a half-demon, and he might fight supernatural threats all around the world to keep us humans safe and happily oblivious. He might see and experience things most – almost all –people never get to see and experience. He is a soldier of sorts, and he kills evil creatures without hesitation – even if without a particular pleasure too. Still, Quinn is young, and some things that may seem insignificant against the backdrop of his life full of action and peril can hurt him deeper than a magic fireball – which, by the way, probably will make him only stronger since fire is his father’s domain.
Quinn’s life is good. Not without its drawbacks and worries – apart from the constant imminent danger of getting slain by some monster from the Underworld – but he has nothing to complain about. His gorgeous half-angel girlfriend adores him – and when you are twenty, who cares that your love doesn’t care about jumping into the marital bliss right away (well, a teeny-weeny spoiler, Quinn does, but…) – his family supports him, his friends are with him, and he is about to graduate from college. Enough to send the prayers of gratitude to Heavens. So, when his imperfectly perfect world starts to crumble, Quinn is not as prepared to deal with the consequences as he would’ve been ready to fight a vampire coven, or a demigod, or whoever else might spring right out of hell.
Used to dealing with paranormal threats of high calibre – think Greek gods sort of calibre – Quinn might not be prepared to fight the battle where the risk is not only physical. Will Quinn overcome the most profound emotional pain? Or will it shatter his soul and his whole being?
Peppered with sizzling hot romantic scenes – including between the characters from whom the series readers wouldn’t expect any chemistry whatsoever – the final book of The Younglings will not let your eyelids droop, no matter how long you’ll stay awake not to stop reading. Full of magic, adventure, the characters that cause mixed feelings but also make one want to find out more about them, “Storms, Starlight & Magic” is a grandiose finale of the Younglings series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2024Now it's finally my time to review this amazing book and I'm not sure where to even start. Can I say I cried I'm so sad this series is over. This author is absolutely amazing and has a way with her writing that really just captures you from the first page of the book.
Just like all of her other books in this series Storms, Starlight and Magic has tension, magic, love everything in every aspect.
I won't give away anything so no looking for that in here but I mean I felt the tension from the beginning.
And I knew what was coming yet I still wasn't ready for that final battle I mean the author just weaves so much power into every chapter.
Ahhh I'm so sad this series is over. I haven't been this sad about a series ending since the ending of Friends.
These books can be read as a stand along but honestly I wouldn't. They have little comments about previous things that happened in the other books.
Plus look how pretty the books are ?! I know I can't wait to purchase all of them and let all my friends read them so l can brag about how I told them so !!!
Thank you for sharing your writing with the world. I can't wait to see what's next for you
- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2024I have read, loved, and 5-star reviewed the first three books in brilliant author Helena M. Craggs’s “Younglings” series. Recently I received an advanced reader copy of her fourth book, “Storms, Starlight, and Magic.” Wow. That’s my first reaction to this epic tale so cleverly told. Craggs has knocked it out of the park for readers with this book. It is her best yet.
Sensitive to spoilers, I’ll only share high-level comments. The plot is utterly original, clever, and immersive. It grabs you and never let’s go. It is full of triumph and tragedy—I soaked several tissues and stood to cheer more than once. The main characters in Craggs’s “Younglings” series are on board—Quinn, the narrator and half-demon, and Eve, the half-angel and the love of his life. They are joined by other main characters on the “Younglings” team: Leo, the half-vampire; Miguel the wolf-shifter; Mille, the witch; Beth, the inactive vampire; Harry, the genius mortal; Eloise, the ghost who can’t pass over; Jack the human who turns into a vampire to live in eternity with his vampire soulmate, Natasha. Bet you don’t have friends that interesting---I don’t.
Several adults play an important role in this extraordinary book. There’s Edward Atua, Quinn’s father, a Demon King; Mrs. D, a demon who watches over Quinn and the Younglings, and surprise, Lucifer, who is Quinn’s uncle. Other surprise characters come onstage—several gods and goddesses straight out of Greek Mythology. Of course, there’s a major antagonist – Rhys, the vampire hunter who’s been after Eve and her angel blood since book 2. He represents heart-stopping peril for the lives and love of Quinn and Eve.
I read this book in a flash and now await the release of the audio version, narrated by the mega-talented Andrew Bond who has brilliantly voiced all the books in the “Younglings” series. I highly recommend this book and series to both YA and adult readers of all genres. Confession: I was never a reader of Supernatural Fantasy until I was introduced to this engaging and magical series. It may have turned me, of all things.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Fantastic Book!
I was honoured to receive this book as an ARC, and all I can say is it bloody BRILLIANT!!
The Younglings: Storms, Starlight, and Magic contains all the emotional ups and downs, mystery and magical energy of its predecessors.
What I love the most is the growth in Ms Craggs' characters. Their interactions no longer show the apparent hesitancy and questioning of their choices by people in their teens.
They are genuinely young adults now charting a path forward.
And, of course, love and change are in the air.
Yet I fear what the future holds for them as the challenges you have thrown at them in this book have been more dire.
Ms Craggs unveils her characters in such a vivid way that it touches all their vulnerabilities and hopes and is sure to connect with the reader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent series
I can’t tell you how excited I was to receive this final instalment of The Younglings. I have loved this YA series and looked forward to the conclusion of Quinn and the gangs adventures. I’ve really enjoyed the character development across the series and this instalment didn’t disappoint.
Half demon Quinn and his half angel girlfriend lead a group of paranormal teenagers who help spirits cross over and fight supernatural threats to the human world. In SS&M they have to deal with new problems caused by a Greek Demi-god and the fae but a threat from the past hangs over them and in particular one member of the gang. Can the Younglings survive this threat without it tearing them apart?
I read this in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down. It was an exciting and thrilling read that kept me turning pages into the early hours. I loved the connections to past books and the way it all came to a head in this one. Although I think it could be read as a stand alone, the reader will get more out of it by reading the series. The characters are so likeable and the adventures so exciting it would be a shame to miss any of it. This has to be one of my favourite YA series and I highly recommend it whether you are a YA yourself or an oldie like me!

🌻SpLD comments (from a dyslexic)🌻
The authors choice of font, page colour, and spacing works really well for my dyslexia. The chapter lengths are easily managable to allow me to dip in and out of.
🎨 Artwork
As with all the books in the series, artwork is beautiful and really captures the look and feel of the book.
✒️ Style
The authors style changes a little through the series, with this book feeling a little darker and with more detail. It was great to revisit the characters on their journey. There is enough detail to keep the existing readers of the series interested, but also enough that I think it would work well as a stand-alone. It's really hard not to give away the story with spoilers so I will close with the statement, this book is absolutely worth picking up and one of my best reads this year.
I really enjoy the authors writing style and would love to read anything new from them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Last Book
I seriously don’t even know where to begin with reviewing this book! I have loved every minute of reading this series, and am so sad this is it for these characters and the series.
The Younglings series was my favourite reads of 2023. They all centre on Quinn who is half human and half demon, his girlfriend Eve, a half human half angel, and their group of friends who vary from ghost, witch, werewolf and vampire. They are basically the modern day Scooby gang where they fight other paranormal type beings who are bad/evil.
Storms, Starlight and Magic is the final book and really wraps this up nicely, even though I don’t want it to end 😂 a brilliant book and I highly recommend this set of books

5.0 out of 5 stars A great series
I stumbled on the series via Amazon and have loved ever book in the series. The humour characters and style all brought me joy. If this marks the end of the series it will be a good one. But still. The potential for more sits there.
